Abstract

The vibration generator comprises four parallel line shafts (6,9), set out in two superposed pairs, equipped with out of balance masses (7). A notched belt (21) engages a notched pulley (12) wedged on the shafts and return idler pulleys (20) mounted on a chassis (16) displaceable in a plane perpendicular to the shafts. The chassis displacement the mass pairs to be placed either in phase or in phase opposition to each other. Each line shaft has a pinion (10) wedged on it, with pinions on one line shaft pair meshing with those on the other pair. Only one of the two line shafts of each pair carries a notched pulley around which the notched belt is engaged. The chassis is constituted by two lateral levers (16), pivoted on a fixed frame (15), connected together by an upper connecting rod assembly constituting a deformable quadrilateral. <IMAGE>
