Abstract

Para reducir concentraciones de acetal cuando se separa etanol de un producto crudo en una o más columnas de destilación, al menos una de las columnas es operada a una presión mayor para aumentar la constante de equilibrio que favorece la hidrólisis del acetal; el producto crudo puede comprender etanol, acetaldehído, agua y uno o más acetales, tales como dietil acetal; la concentración de acetal puede reducirse disminuyendo así la necesidad de separar el acetal del producto crudo.
