[edit]Can I block that account, as it appears as though you no longer need it? Kevin Rutherford (talk) 21:10, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
- Interesting point. There are several issues with the central login procedure at this time, but I have been recognised as Aschmidt for the first time ever. So, yes, I think it would be alright to block my other account, please. Thank you for looking into this!--Aschmidt (talk) 23:00, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
- Okay, done. I almost blocked your IP, so I'm glad I caught that one. I don't know if you have noticed yet, but I granted you administrator rights the other day, as you had them on your other account, so you should be good to go!
- Thx, again!--Aschmidt (talk) 08:30, 7 August 2013 (UTC)

Admin review
[edit]As you may have seen, I have contacted many admins who have been inactive. I am also messaging other admins who technically are not inactive but who have very few actions in the past year—some of whom have never used any admin tools here. I would like to know if you are interested in having these rights still. Please respond here with {{Ping}} to let me know. Thank you. Koavf (talk) 22:22, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Koavf: Thanks for asking. I'm still a member of wiki:team, so sysop rights still might be useful in the future, even if I have not used them for quite a while. If local policy permits, I would be grateful if you please could leave my permissions as is. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any queries.--Aschmidt (talk) 19:24, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
Per our inactivity policy, you are subject to having your advanced user rights removed. If you are interested in keeping them, you must respond here with {{Ping|Koavf}} and explain that you'd like to keep them. If the rights are removed and you want to get them back later, you will have to lodge a formal request. Thank you. Koavf (talk) 08:33, 11 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Koavf: Thanks for pinging me. I am still active in education the same way as before. So, if policy permits I would like to keep sysop rights as they might be useful for upcoming projects. Thanks in advance.--Aschmidt (talk) 09:08, 11 March 2019 (UTC)
- The policy is that if you don't edit, then you can have them removed but you just edited! Do you anticipate using these advanced rights? Koavf (talk) 09:15, 11 March 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for asking. Again, as before, I have no concrete plans for any projects on Outreach wiki for the time being, but I am still active with the wiki:team as before. This is why I would like to keep everything as is, please, if policy permits.--Aschmidt (talk) 09:25, 11 March 2019 (UTC)

Possible removal of user rights
[edit]Per this Village pump thread and our Wikimedia:Inactivity policy, you are subject to having your advanced user rights removed. If you are interested in keeping them, you must respond here within 30 days using {{Ping|Koavf}} and explain that you'd like to keep them. If the rights are removed and you want to get them back later, you will have to lodge a formal request. Thank you. Koavf (talk) 07:47, 25 October 2021 (UTC)
- Hello @Koavf, thanks for you message and your mail. If policy permits I'd like to keep my advanced user rights, please. If there is anything more I can do to help you, would you please let me know. Many thanks in advance. Best regards, Aschmidt (talk) 18:11, 25 October 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, policy permits. The only reason to remove it per the policy is inactivity (and presumably, nefariousness). Koavf (talk) 21:13, 25 October 2021 (UTC)
- And again. Please ping me if you need to keep these rights. Koavf (talk) 04:11, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
- Hello @Koavf, thanks for asking. In fact, I do not need advanced user rights any more. So please feel free to remove them. Thanks and best regards, Aschmidt (talk) 08:38, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
- Can do. Thanks, A. Koavf (talk) 14:34, 19 February 2024 (UTC)

How we will see unregistered users
[edit]Hi!
You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.
When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.
Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.
If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.
We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.
Thank you. /Johan (WMF)
