Awarded Presidential Medal of Freedom after cancer diagnosis

Almost every American family knows the pain when a loved one is diagnosed with a serious illness. Here tonight is a special man who just received a Stage 4 advanced cancer diagnosis. Rush Limbaugh: Thank you for your decades of tireless devotion to our country. Rush, in recognition of all that you have done for our Nation, the millions of people a day that you speak to and inspire, and all of the incredible work that you have done for charity, I am proud to announce tonight that you will be receiving our country's highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Wikipedia explanation:The Presidential Medal of Freedom is an award bestowed by the president; [it and the] Congressional Gold Medal are the highest civilian awards of the US. The presidential medal seeks to recognize those people who have made "an especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other significant public or private endeavors".[

80% of listeners identify themselves as conservatives

Conservative news reaches millions of Americans every day. All in all, a quarter of Americans report regularly watching Fox News. As for radio, Rush Limbaugh, and fellow conservatives radio hosts Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, Glenn Beck, and Laura Ingraham, each reach tens of millions of radio listeners across the country.

Viewers and listeners respond to the partisan slant Fox and other conservative outlets present. More than half of Fox news watchers identify as politically conservative, with higher levels of conservatism among viewers of Fox News' top programs. Fully 80% of Rush Limbaugh listeners identify themselves as conservatives, compared to 35% of Americans as a whole. Demographics track what one would expect from the partisan skew. The average age of a Fox News Channel viewer is over 65 years, while conservative talk radio listeners average 67 years of age. Less than 2% of Fox viewers are African-American.

Operation Chaos: Republicans vote for Hillary in primary

As it became clear in the spring of 2008 that Obama would win the Democratic nomination, Limbaugh hit upon what he thought was a brilliant innovation: Convince Republicans to cross over and vote in the Democratic primary for Hillary Clinton in order to extend the Democratic race and divide the party. He called it Operation Chaos.

Limbaugh decided, "We need Barack Obama bloodied up politically." He was explicitly partisan: "I want our party to win. I want the Democrats to lose. They're in the midst of tearing themselves apart right now. It is fascinating to watch. And it's all going to stop if Hillary loses."

Operation Chaos never had a large impact on voting, but even swaying the results by a few percentage points affected the Democratic primary. Obama campaign manager noted, "Over 12% of the Indiana primary vote was Republican and Hillary carried it, despite her through-the-roof unfavorable numbers with these voters. Limbaugh's project worked in Indiana--it cost us that victory."

Criticizes Democrats for not following the Constitution

Thinking about the Democrats, the Constitution is anathema to them, the Constitution limits the power of the government, limits the size, limits the role of government, and to have to not only sit there and listen to it, but to share in the punishment of reading it.

I want Obama to fail, because I want America to survive

The Democrats hoped George Bush failed [in Iraq]. So what is so strange about being honest to say that I want Barack Obama to fail if his mission is to restructure and reform this country so that capitalism and individual liberty are not its foundation? Why would I want that to succeed?

Let me add a caveat here. The New Castrati, guys who have lost their guts, say, "we can't say we want the President to fail, Mr. Limbaugh, because that's like saying you want the country to fail." It's the opposite. I want the country to survive. I want the country to succeed. I want the country to survive as we have known it, as you and I were raised in it.

There's some people you can't say you want the President to fail. The Democrat Party has actively not just sought the failure of Republican presidents and policies and now wars for the first time, the Democrat Party doesn't stop at failure. Talk to Judge Robert Bork or Justice Clarence Thomas about how they tried to destroy lives, reputations and character.

OpEd: Demonstrates the absurdity of official media dogma

In January 1994, the them editor of "The Spectator", Dominic Lawson, accounts for the popularity of Rush Limbaugh and Jackie Mason by suggesting that they have "the role in modern America that underground satirists had in Russia during the late Soviet years. They were popular, and even loved, because they were the only people who could publicly demonstrate the absurdity of the official media dogma--the bogus brotherhood of man, promulgated in the USSR, by 'Pravda' and 'Izvestia', and in the USA by the likes of the Washington Post and The New York Times". He came to realize why the American media are so neurotic, "why they are quite so slavish to the humourless ethos of political correctness. They realize that their own country is in fact driven by social divides along racial and religious lines. But no amount of silence on the matter will make the difference disappear."

1994 Freshman GOP called themselves "The Ditto-Head Caucus"

As the media expand to include more alternatives, the opinion of him in the nation's largest newsrooms means a good deal less than it once did. The Second American Revolution was opposed by the so-called mainstream media--the national newspapers and networks--but roundly supported by the alternative media. Gingrich knows, for instance, that radio broadcaster Rush Limbaugh was a nuclear-sized megaphone against Clinton and for the more populist House Republicans. (Freshman Republicans call themselves the Ditto-Head Caucus after the name Limbaugh's loyal listeners have given themselves.)

At Gingrich's swearing in, talk radio hosts (liberal and conservative) were given broadcast space in the Capitol for the first time. After all, exit polls of voters in 1994 showed that talk radio listeners were far more likely to vote Republican.

“New Democrat” really means old liberal social engineer

Any time you see the adjective “new” employed, assume that the label is mere smoke and mirrors, calculated to obscure the fact that there is nothing “new” about what is being described. Rather, it is the same old stuff simply repackaged.

Think about it What was new about the “New Left” of the 1960s? It was simply the old left dressed up in tie-dyed shirts. The “New Age”? It’s nothing more than recycled paganism.

Why, then, did so many believe it when Bill Clinton professed to be a “New Democrat”? Moreover, why did so many believe there was any such thing as a “New Democrat”? As the days pass, it is becoming increasingly clear that there is nothing new about Bill Clinton’s Democratic Party. During the campaign, Clinton co-opted the traditionally conservative issues from George Bush.

But since taking office, Clinton is revealing himself to be extremely liberal. Make no mistake. There’s nothing moderate about Clinton’s programs. The New Democrat is the same old social engineer.

Constitution only works in a moral society

Don’t believe the conventional wisdom of our day that claims the Founding Fathers were anything but orthodox, Bible-believing Christians. They were. And they were quite adamant in stating that the Constitution-as brilliant a document as it is-would work only in the context of a moral society. “Our Constitution was made for moral and religious people,” stated John Adams. George Washington said, “Of all the dispositions and habits that lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports.“ James Madison agreed: ”We have staked the future upon our capacity to sustain ourselves according the Ten Commandments of God.“

The founders knew they were bestowing upon us only an ingenious political system of checks and balances, limited government, and a legacy of human and civil rights. It would be up to future generations to make it all work. But it would only work, they warned, if the society was girded on a bedrock of solid values and Judeo-Christian principles.

Liberalism poisons the soul and destroys character

A truism I’ve often proclaimed is: “Liberalism poisons the soul.” Originally, it may have sounded harsh to some, trite to others; scintillating to the politically astute. Today, I am convinced it is more on the mark than ever. Here’s what it really means to me: Modern-day liberalism is like a disease or an addiction that literally has the power to destroy the character of the person who falls under its spell.

Liberalism is seductive and insidious. It can take hold of you before you realize it. Do you know why? Because it doesn’t take any guts to become a liberal. All you have to do to be a good liberal is to say yes to everything except cutting spending and downsizing government. Just say yes. Government should do more to end homelessness. It should spend more on education. It should provide day-care. You name it; the omnipotent, central government should do it. All you have to do to prove your compassion is say yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. What could be easier?
