Tia Handpainted silks on Instagram: "I’m painting a satin silk saree today. I’m using steam set dyes and the resist I’m using is marabu contour and effects black gutta. Gutta forms the basis of silk painting. This resist forms a barrier and prevents the dyes from blending into one another. I’ve fixed a steel nib on the ready made gutta tube to get fine lines for my silk. It takes a little practice to get even smooth lines with gutta. I heat fix the gutta using an iron.
