An architectural firm that has submitted a proposal to design an ‘eco’ house built within an existing quarry void has subsequently been nominated for a prestigious design award.

DnA_Design and Architecture has transformed the hand-carved interiors of former stone quarries in Jinyun, China, to create three cultural spaces.

This rectilinear wooden cabin in Hungary by young studio Béres Architects nestles up against the exposed rock face of a former quarry.
