Word Power Challenge February 2025

Hello friends, we are back this month with our
WORD POWER challenge,
the challenge where your words take center stage!

Do you have large/big words and are not sure what to do with them?
Then get them out and use them for our challenge, it's really pretty easy!
There is no theme so any large sentiments/words will do!

For my card, being February I pulled out some of my Penny Black
dies and stamps.  I die cut the word LOVE twice and stacked one on the other.
The stamp is from PB Loads of Love, a set I got free by winning a
gift certificate to 123Sttich  from the Penny Black challenge!
The eyelet trim across the top was created using an old SU punch,
this is the first time I have used my much neglected punch in years!
The background paper is from one of my newest pads,
Crafter's Companion Love Is In The Air.

So, grab those big words and come on over to
Word Power and join in the fun!

Word Power January 2025

Hello Friends, to start off the New Year we have our challenge at
Word Power
that is all about having your WORDS take center stage
on your card, allowing you to use those BIG sentiments we all have!

I started with a paper from an old (2013) Martha Stewart paper pack
I am trying to use up and die cut it with a Tutti Designs Stitched Postage die.

My Dotted Circle is also a Tutti Designs and the bird and branches are
from Memory Box (I think)!

I misplaced the name of the sentiment but I believe it is
a Tonic die.

We would love to have you join us at Word Power with your
BIG sentiments!!

Word Power #12

It will be a complete year after this month that
our Word Power challenge has been going strong,
so how do you like it?  Are you having fun with it?
I know I am as it gives us another opportunity to use
more of my probably very neglected supplies!!
Our challenge is always anything goes as long as
your sentiment takes center stage!!

For my card today I used a die that I have only used once before.
It's a Memory Box 'Have A Holly Jolly Christmas' (2014).....
what does that tell you, I never get rid of anything, in fact when I hear of people 'purging' their supplies it makes me cringe,
I am a keeper of ALL lol!
I think the first and the last time I used it I made it into a
shaker card but this time I just die cut it and let it take center stage
for our challenge!  It was die cut from a Tonic silver metallic paper
and placed on a Mintay starry paper, not much more to say about it
but it will be an easy mailer and with the price of postage
going up and up, that is okay with me.

Come on over to Word Power and join in with us,
have a Holly Jolly Christmas yourself!!

Word Power #11

We are into the 11th month at Word Power
which seems so hard to believe, time sure does 'fly' as they say!
Our challenge is all about letting your sentiments
take 'center stage' not just a one word tiny sentiment.
I pulled out my fun (and yummy) Concord & 9th
Sweet As Pie die set and created a fun pumpkin pie card,
after all it is the season for it, right?
All you see is part of the die set, they thought of everything,
even the pie server!!
I die cut my sentiment words three times and
stacked one on top of the other so it would really 'pop'!
All the papers used are scraps with the exception of
the plaid which is a P13 Hello Autumn paper.
I think this card will go to a granddaughter
that loves her grandma's cards and saves each and every one,
she is 18 now, she has quite a collection of them!!

We would love to have you join us at Word Power,
what are you waiting for??

Word Power #10

It's our 10th challenge at Word Power starting today
where we want to see your sentiments take center stage!
No little one word sentiments for us, we want to see big and bold!

I started my card with a piece of scrap paper covered
by an orange piece of vellum, just letting the pumpkin
design peek through.
The spider web big BOO is from Tutti Designs.
I added a few lots of sequins to cover up
the glue showing thru on my vellum.

Come on over to Word Power and have some fun with us,
don't forget, we want the sentiments to be the focal
of your card!!

Word Power #9

Hello friends, it's that time again for our monthly challenge
at Word Power where we want to see your sentiments
be the focal point of your card!

I used a scrap piece of kraft paper and stamped my
sentiment with Versamark and embossed
(wait for it) with COFFEE embossing powder.
It is from SNS and I remember when they came out with this
color and I first used it and loved it, PLUS, it embosses
beautifully!!  A perfect EB powder for my fun Riley & Company
Funny Bones sentiment!

The coffee cup is part of one of the TH Colorize die sets.
I used lots of Colorize but this one was a doozy!!
Needless to say, I only used parts of the die for my cup,
someday when I have more time I'll sit down and
see if I can figure it all out!  The cup was cut from
paper scraps as well.

I hope you have enjoyed my fun card and will join us
at Word Power with your own creation!!

Word Power #8

Hello friends, today brings us to a new monthly challenge
at Word Power where your sentiment is the focal point on
your card!
I think my BIG thank you does the trick on this card
as you certainly can't miss the message on this one!
I used a NBUS TH Alterations Distressed Frame EB folder for my
backdrop and an also NBUS flower SU die cut with
the pretty paper from Dress My Craft Hydrangea Lawns.
The butterfly is Cheapo Dies.

Word Power #7

Breaking News!!

We have  a NEW challenge blog starting on July 13th
that will normally start on the FIRST Saturday of each month
and end on the last day of each month and it is
Love Those Pretty Patterned Papers
where the theme is to use your 'hoard' of pattern papers
you can read all about it HERE!

Hello friends, today brings us to another new monthly challenge at
Word Power  where the focal on your card should
be your sentiment!

The card I created makes me HAPPY just as the sentiment says!
I used a COLOR die and sentiments from Sunny Studio stamps
color collection.  I die cut the word color three times and
stacked one on on top of the other so it would 'pop'!
The embossing folder is an oldie from SU Elegant Bouquet,
I just flipped it upside down so it would work with my design
and to leave me a place for my sentiment.
The fun and colorful rooster is one of the Cottage Cutz
Folk Art line that I hit one of their fabulous sales
and got him (and a few, ahem, others) for a great price.
He was so EASY  to put together as this die was
made more like other dies where each piece is  a separate
piece and the main piece was like a Cricut cut where it
embosses to direct you where to put all those fun
'folksy' pieces you see.

Isn't he FUN??  Pop on over to
Word Power
and join in the fun with us!!

Word Power #6

Hello my friends, today is  the first day of our monthly challenge at
Word Power
where your sentiment should be the focal point of your card!

I created a light and dreamy wedding card just perfect
for our June challenge.
The base of my card is a beautiful paper from
Dress My Craft Hydrangea Lawns.
The LOVE die cut is one I received as a free gift
when ordering from scrapbookdotcom and also cut from
the same paper as mentioned above.
I added a couple of Impression Obsession doves
that complete my card, of course I had to add a tiny heart
for one dove to carry, it is a wedding card after all!

Won't YOU join us over at Word Power?
We would love to have you!!

Word Power #5

Hello friends, another new month, another new challenge at
Word Power
where we want your sentiments to take center stage!

I used a sentiment I received when I was on the DT at Sparkle N Sprinkle.
I stamped it in Versamark on vellum, then embossed it with SNS white EB powder.
Only thing, I made a mistake by evidently not embossing the two last words of
the sentiment which was 'to stay', as while adhering my top layer to my designer paper
I put my hand in the un-embossed last two words, eeek!
Since this was a second attempt already and my last piece of light
blue vellum, I made it work without those two words, at least I think I did!
I added a few gems where the words were to help cover up the mess I made!
The pretty paper under the vellum is Dress My Craft Hydrangea Lawns

Come on over to Word Power and have some fun with us
showing us your 'center stage' sentiments!!

Word Power #4

Hello friends, it's  Word Power Challenge #4
where your sentiment takes center stage!
No tiny little one word sentiments are allowed,
we want to see BIG sentiments that draw your eye to it first thing!

I think my card does that with the BIG HI cover plate die I used.
I received this die from scrapbookdotcom free with a purchase
and this is the first time I have used it.
I placed it over a pretty paper from Echo Park's Bee Happy paper pads.
One of my Spellbinders handmade flowers was added.

Come on over to Word Power and join in with us
but make sure to read the rules tab before entering!!

Word Power #3

Hello friends, it's a new month and that means a new challenge
starting at Word Power !  This challenge seems to be quite a hit
as it allows you to use those BIG sentiments and let them take
center stage, no little one word sentiments for us!!

For some reason I really like how this turned out,
not sure if it's the plaid paper , the shamrocks or
the fun big Good Luck sentiment but it grows on me!

I die cut the Frantic Stamper Shamrock cover plate
from white card stock, (now I have bunches of white shamrocks)
and placed it over a Doodlebug Design plaid paper from their 'lot's of luck' paper pad!  The sentiment is a newly purchased die
from Photoplay.

Get those BIG eye catching sentiments out and come on over
and join us at Word Power!!

The Best

We are already into February, can you believe it?
Which brings us to our SECOND new challenge at
WORD POWER!
Please visit the blog to read all the rules and information on the challenge!

For my card I used a beautiful paper from Mintay Written Memories.
I saw the layout for this card on Pinterest and really liked the design
so went with it.  The top portion is a Tutti designs square cut down to the
shape and size you see.
I stamped the big sentiment from a Stampin Up set Happy Wishes.
I added my flower and greenery from sets of flowers I already had made up!
The wax cord is a last piece I had on my work desk
and it seemed to work fine!

I really love how this turned out with the gorgeous
Mintay paper and creative design!
Hope to see YOU over at Word Power with your
creation having fun with us!!

Just A Little Note

 Hello friends!!
Welcome to our newest challenge adventure
Word Power!!
It just so happens that this challenge idea was
all my 'partner in crime' (Dar's) brainstorm
and of course I 'had to' go along with it!!

A challenge where your sentiment takes center stage
and draws the recipients eye to it first thing!!
You can read all about it HERE!!

This new, fun challenge gave me the opportunity to
use a 'new to me' and 'never been used before'
Concord & 9th Picked Posies Greetings Stamp set.
This is a really pretty set with lots of BIG greetings
which I am sure you will see me use again in the
coming months as it is just perfect for our challenge!
(Just a note, we don't want to see and will not except
a tiny ONE word sentiment, so beware)!

My floral circle is one I have used before
as it is a favorite of mine
Memory Box Floral Ball Collage.
I added a few gems to the flower centers
giving it just enough sparkle!!

So, come on over to Word Power and join in with
us crazy ladies for a new fun challenge!!
