The series start with an an extraordinary outsider being introduced to a close community of people. Places that feel like tight little utopias this other person has stumbled into. From it all unexpected bonds are made and there's a great sense of belonging involved. Where problems come out by everyone helps out. Coupled with that is a refreshing feeling from the designs and colors of the two series.
Tsuritama is like the male version of Tamako Market if you replace the mochi-making with fishing. Both are slice of life, centered around friendships/community, have bright artwork, and have a foreigner character with a bird sidekick. Overall the vibes are really similar.
