'Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru' Announces Cast Pair

The official website for the television anime adaptation of Shigeru Sagazaki's Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru: Tada no Inaka no Kenjutsu Shihan Datta noni, Taisei shita Deshi-tachi ga Ore wo Hottekurenai Ken (From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman: My Hotshot Disciples Are All Grown Up Now, and They Won't Leave Me Alone) light novel revealed additional cast and a second key visual (pictured) on Wednesday. The anime is scheduled to begin on April 5 at 11:30 p.m. on TV Asahi's IMAnimation's programming block in 24 stations, followed by BS Asahi. It will also stream worldwide on Amazon Prime Video.

Voice actors Arisa Nakada (Seiken Gakuin no Makentsukai) and Ryouta Oosaka (Hataraku Maou-sama!) are joining the cast as Mewi Freya and Shupuuru, respectively.

Akio Kazumi (Hitoribocchi no Isekai Kouryaku) helms the anime at Passione and Hayabusa Film. Kunihiko Okada (Seiken Gakuin no Makentsukai) is handling the series composition and Satsuki Hayasaka (Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki) is designing the characters. Yasuharu Takanashi (Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu) is composing the music.

Sagazaki began writing the fantasy adventure story on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in November 2020. Square Enix began publishing the light novel under its SQEX Novel imprint in April 2021, with illustrations by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima (Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyou). The eighth volume was released on August 6.

A manga adaptation by Kazuki Satou began in Young Champion magazine in August 2021. Akita Shoten shipped the sixth volume in August 2024 and will release the seventh volume on March 27.

J-Novel Club licensed the light novel in English in October 2023 and released the third volume on May 15. The fifth volume went on sale on January 15. Yen Press licensed the manga on March 29 and shipped the second volume on January 21, with the third volume scheduled to go on sale on May 27.

@Yubisoft Everyone someday starts from something small. I also remember the time when Inori Minase restricted herself with generic moe titles or when Hayami Saori played generic waifus in ecchi harems.

Arisa Naka da is an complete amateur so can't say I am satisfied but hey at least we got Oosaka san.
