Solid thriller/horror/mystery/supernatural manga supported by the amazing art of Ayamura Kirihito. They have the same dark, creepy aura, plenty of violence and gore, and a weird ending. Their plot is also very similar, as both involve a group of four friends that goes searching for their missing female friend, who has mysteriously disappeared.

Experiments, a race of blood thirsty super humans, drama, tragedy, gore, action, and strong fighting girls. Red Garden is definitely more refined and well-drawn than Elfen Lied, though.

These manga are similar as they both involve fighting girls, shoujo-ai subtext, an elitist school, drama, and refined art styles.
