Synopsis

Yuzu Aihara is a girl who loves fashion and is always worried about her appearance. She likes to go out with her friends, but has never kissed or dated anyone before. But her life turns upside down when her mother remarries and Yuzu is transferred to a very strict all-girls school, where she cannot wear makeup and earrings or even bring a cellphone. Deciding to rebel, she dresses how she likes on her first day, and because of that, she is called out in front of the entire school by the student council president: Mei Aihara, a girl who is the complete opposite of Yuzu.

To make her situation worse, when Yuzu gets home, she finds out that she has a new sister, and it turns out to be none other than Mei herself. Annoyed by the circumstances, the student council president kisses her in an effort to prove a point. However, everything changes when Yuzu seems to like it and cannot stop thinking about it.

You might like this manga, if you really really like Yuri stuff, but I dont see anything special about this manga. Really boring for the most part. I kept expecting something exciting to happen, or a change of pace, neither ever really come. Then it abruptly ended before I even realized I was on the last chapter. Its not the worst romance manga ive ever read, but it still left much to be desired. None of the characters are particularly that interesting, nor are they relatable. To date, I struggle to understand why Citrus is as popular as it is. There are so many better yuri. It is average at best and weirdly gross at worst.

In terms of positives, there are a few. Citrus has nice art, the character designs are extremely cute. Yuzu and Mei look cute together, at least aesthetically. Yuzu is an alright protagonist who is fun to root for.

That is about where the praise ends; everything else is pretty bad. Mei, in particular, is one of the worst written characters in recent memory. She treats Yuzu quite terribly and is rather abusive at times. The fact that ...
