Synopsis

From a young age, Minami Harusumi has had recurring dreams of Veronica, a princess whose kingdom is on the verge of destruction. He believes them to be recollections of his past life, and that he is her reincarnation. Because of this, he is ridiculed by his classmates. One day, when the mockery escalates into bullying, he rediscovers magic—something Veronica had studied and used. Reassured his past life is not merely a fantasy, Minami tries to learn more about his past memories and the reason behind them...

BackgroundThe original pilot one-shot of Bokura no Kiseki was published in Zero-Sum WARD Vol.18 on November 16, 2007; it was renamed to chapter 0 in the first published volume. Serialization started in Zero-Sum Ward No.005 on September 16, 2008, which continued until its discontinuance in May 2015 (2015 No.045). It re-started in Comic ZERO-SUM on August 28 (2015-10 issue).

The series has been published in Polish by Waneko since May 18, 2016.

Solid story, bordering on Masterpiece.

Bokura no Kiseki has the most basic, almost fanfiction-like premise with the absolute hardest execution. I have never seen a story take an idea and make it its own like this. This manga can not be defined by standard genres or demographics, it doesn't seem to be written to favour an intended audience but simply to tell an incredibly well-written story.

There's barely any action, and yet you can feel the thrill during tense events. Most of the time, characters are just speaking, but its done in a way that every conversation is like a choreographed fight. Surprise attacks, cold deliveries, ...

side note: this review is an attempt at spoiler-free. You still get some... hints of the future chapters, though.

I was half-hearted at first because the art was not really my style, but now I regret not reading it earlier.

Isekai is a cliche plot. Like, really cliche. Everyone overuses it now, and I thought this would be the same. But no, it's not. Instead, it's more like a mass-isekai where everyone only remembers the past by seeing magic or hearing the old tongue. Bokura no Kiseki is a convoluted mess since the first chapter and continues to be even now.

My first impression since I saw this series years ago was iffy at best. Chapter 0 was a confusing mess for both story and art. With that, I decided to pass on this series.
It was not until now that I see that series is still on going that I decided to try again as I always loved reincarnation stories and if it still on going, that means this was loved by some people.
