5-toubun no Hanayome

Fuutarou Uesugi is an ace high school student, but leads an otherwise tough life. His standoffish personality and reclusive nature have left him friendless, and his father is debt-ridden, forcing his family to scrape by.

One day during his lunch break, Uesugi argues with a female transfer student who has claimed "his seat," leading both of them to dislike each other. That same day, he is presented with a golden opportunity to clear his family's debt: a private tutoring gig for a wealthy family's daughter, with a wage of five times the market price. He accepts the proposal, but is horrified to discover that the client, Itsuki Nakano, is the girl he confronted earlier!

After unsuccessfully trying to get back on Itsuki's good side, Uesugi finds out that his problems don't end there: Itsuki is actually a quintuplet, so in addition to her, he must also tutor her sisters—Miku, Yotsuba, Nino, and Ichika—who, despite the very real threat of flunking, want nothing to do with a tutor. However, his family's livelihood is on the line so Uesugi pushes on, adamant in his resolve to rid the sisters of their detest for studying and successfully lead them to graduation.

Relatable - 2. Enabling a person to feel that they can relate to someone or something.
Thats one word for the MC. Smart, nice, but pretty lonely...

In "Toubun no Hanayome" the mc is quite relatable and the show is 'interesting' to say the least. Has good hooks at the end of each episode to keep watching it and you can never really come to a conclusion of who the mc gets with (So a harem genre...)

This show i'd say hooks you or drops within the first few episodes. So there is no harm in at least watching 2-3 episodes to decide wether you like it ... or not. Personally, it was very enjoyable, Comedic and funny, character building is great and done well (ups and downs to keep you hooked), a good conclusion without a... well... conclusion? to the first season.

Only downside I can see is it may not appeal to some people, worth a shot at least, but it can feel overwhelming or not relatable enough, childish, 'lonely', etc.
Other than that a great watch and will probably watch in the future again.

Easily reccommend this show, and to all who are contimplating: just try 1 or 2 episodes :)

Mixed Feelings

The man who is a genius but too stupid. That is the main protagonist of this Anime if it has to be said in one sentence.

A typical harem where the guy is too innocent to realize that the girl likes him. But what makes the difference is how this story presents its love story with lots of difficult intrigues but remains light and relaxing to watch. Supported by visuals that are quite pleasing to the eye and each of the 5 heroines has their own character and typical behavior, which makes it seem the viewer will not get bored watching these girl. That's the ... strong point of this anime has to offer.

There is one aspect that I personally think is not very good, that is the back story which gradually gets longer, why?Viewers will be immersed in a puzzle from the MC's Back Story, I don't want to spoil it but the point is, we are continuously invited to guess who the person is in the MC's old memories. Well, that's what I don't like, as if the viewer is being hooked like a fish that can't get away from the story, while the story itself takes a long time to reveal the mystery or doesn't take at all. But I have to admit, the story is good and light, at least you will be made to smile a few times while watching this.

Approaching "The Quintessential Quintuplets" with minimal expectations, I found myself largely underwhelmed by the series. Marketed as a blend of comedy and romance, the anime revolves around Futaro Uesugi's efforts to tutor five identical sisters, each struggling academically. Despite this promising setup, the show disappoints, offering little in the way of either genuine tutoring sessions or character development.

The quintuplets, central to the narrative, unfortunately, come across as lacking distinct personalities. While initially charming, they do not evolve in meaningful ways, remaining static as the series progresses. This stagnation is particularly frustrating given the rich potential for growth and differentiation among the sisters, which is largely ... unexploited. The tutoring, which is supposed to be the core of the plot, is sporadically addressed, leaving the primary premise feeling somewhat abandoned.

Narratively, the series struggles with coherence, especially in its concluding episodes. The transitions between past, present, and future are poorly delineated, causing confusion and disrupting the flow of the story. This lack of clear temporal markers detracts significantly from the viewing experience, making it difficult to follow the plot's progression and understand character motivations.

On a more positive note, the visual presentation of "The Quintessential Quintuplets" is one of its redeeming features. The artwork, particularly in its sketchier, more stylized scenes, offers a sense of calm and beauty that stands in contrast to the narrative's flaws. These moments of visual appeal, however, are not enough to carry the series.

In conclusion, while "The Quintessential Quintuplets" might serve as unobtrusive background noise or a light diversion, it falls short as a compelling entry in the anime landscape. For those seeking a series with well-developed characters and a coherent plot, there are numerous other options that might better satisfy those criteria. If the appeal lies merely in the charm of its female leads, viewers might find this charm insufficient to override the series' substantial narrative and character shortcomings.
