Elza is half-German, half-Japanese from her German father and Japanese mother. Her official job is that of a camerawoman. She is someone who has seen much bloodshed and much death during her travels to war torn countries as part of her occupation; which has given her a distaste for war and violence. Her son, Luca passed away less than a year before the 1st Holy Grail War. Elza is a kind individual who cares deeply for others. She bears a hatred for violence and bloodshed as a result of her job and her wish is "for all mothers and children to be saved." Having lost her child less than a year before the 1991 Tokyo Holy Grail War, she is also in a state of mourning, but she covers up her sadness by putting on a happy face.
