I was an admin here for four years until this April when I was demoted for not replying to the confirmation message for a week (a week which was during my Easter vacation where I had no time for Wiki*edia at all). I didn't think I would miss "the buttons", but I've experienced that most of the stuff I do on Meta involves stuff that needs admin access (for things that aren't necessarily logged as such, like editing protected pages, special pages, etc).
