Today was cooler so I decided to do some baking. I made some bread which I'll be posting later on. But I decided to make some sticky buns too. I didn't feel like making more bread dough so this recipe uses frozen bread dough. I keep some on hand for when I'm feeling lazy. These just came out of the oven and the house smells so good. Id eat half of these right now except I just ate dinner and I'm stuffed!
Maple Pecan Sticky Buns
1/4 cup melted butter
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/3 package frozen bread dough (or 1 of the long rolls of dough)
(1 loaf), thawed
4 tbsp. butter, softened
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Pour melted butter into the bottom of a 13-by-9-inch baking pan. Drizzle evenly with maple syrup, then sprinkle with brown sugar and pecans; set aside. Roll out dough into a 12-by-16-inch rectangle. Spread softened butter over the surface. Stir together sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over butter. Roll up dough (starting with the short side) and pinch seams to seal. Cut dough into 9 slices and place in prepared pan. Cover and let stand in a warm place for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until doubled in size. Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes, then invert rolls onto a serving platter.
Makes 9 rolls.
