• Vacuuming is not a substitute for proper freezing, cooling or preservation of food. The shelf life of food depends on many factors, such as the initial germ content of the food, compliance with the correct storage and cooling conditions and the required hygiene during processing and vacuum sealing. If possible, dry the food before vacuum packaging.
• Always wait for the food to cool down to room temperature before vacuuming.

Qaphela

• Some vegetables emit gases in their raw state, which can lead to a loss of vacuum inside the packaging. These include cabbage, beans, onions, and garlic. To prevent the formation of gases, these produce should be blanched before vacuuming.
• Blue cheese should not be stored under vacuum. Fresh mushrooms should only be stored when deep frozen.

• Charge the vacuum pump fully before the first use. Charing time varies depending on the adapter power. With maximum power output, the charging time is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
• Connect the charging cable (5) to the charging port (4) and to a power adapter with USB 2.0 connector and plug it into a wall socket.

• Clean the storage boxes before each use. Make sure the seal of the lid and the edge of the box are clean and dry.
• Do not overfill the storage boxes. Always leave 0.39 – 0.79 inch (1 – 2cm) free from the edge. Make sure the food inside the box does not come into contact with the valve inside the box.

• Make sure no powdery foods (e.g. flour) are sucked in directly by the pump.
• The pump must not absorb any liquids (e.g. water, oil, meat juices). If you notice liquid is being sucked in towards the pump, stop vacuuming immediately by pressing the OFF button.
• The duration of the vacuum sealing process depends on the size of the container and how much it is filled. If a container is smaller or fuller, the vacuum sealing process is faster.

1. Place the vacuum pump on the valve of the storage box and press down lightly.
   
2. Press the ON button. The vacuum pump sucks the air out of the box.
3. Let the pump create a vacuum until it automatically stops or press the OFF button to stop when the vacuum pressure reaches the desired level.
4. To open the box, lift the valve to release the vacuum and open the box.

	The vacuum pump may be sitting too loosely on the valve. When vacuuming, lightly press the vaccum pump into the dock surrounding the valve to create a tight seal between the pump and the valve. If the problem persists, contact our customer service.
The vacuum pump stopped when vacuuming and cannot be switched on again. OR Liquid was accidentally drawn in by the pump.	The pump may have sucked in liquid when vacuuming. 1.   Do not turn the pump upside down. 2.   Shake the pump gently to remove any liquid. 3.   Make sure the body and the silicone seal are completely dry and press the ON button to start again. If the pump stops again, repeat the above steps.
