Chit and Receipt Printing
About this Guide
This guide consists of three sections:
- Overview – A detailed description of what chit and receipt printing is in an Epson TrueOrder Kitchen Display System (KDS).
- How to configure Chit and Receipt Printing – A procedure that can be followed to enable this functionality.
- Appendix – POS/KDS Menu Routing Considerations
Overview
When enabled, this function allows the Master or POS attached device to print an incoming chit or receipt on attached printer. This can only be done when the POS is sending print jobs to the KDS which is configured for a POS parser.
How to Configure Chit and Receipt Printing
This procedure assumes that you already have a Multi-Station KDS setup as described in the Epson KDS Multi-Station Quick Start Guide. However, these instructions can be referenced to enable incoming chit and receipt printing in any Epson KDS that uses a Parser.
- Enable Print Chit Function
1. Select Stations
2. Click Device Config.
3. Select POS Attached Device to enable the Chit and Receipt Printing function.4. Click Print Chit.
5. Click Save
6. Click Publish.
4. Click Print Chit.
Some considerations dependent on if you are POS Menu Routing vs KDS Menu Routing.
KDS Menu Routing – The print job is directed to the Master, POS Attached device so the “Print Chit” option will enable the incoming receipt/chit to print immediately when it is sent.
POS Menu Routing – The print jobs are not directed to the Master, POS Attached device. They are directed to the prep stations. Enabling the “Print Chit” option on the Master, POS Attached device will print all print jobs directed to the prep stations.
