Install the 40 PSU in a well-ventilated location away from sources of high temperature, dust, or humidity. Never stand a 40 PSU under another unit or on any surface likely to obstruct its cooling or ventilation.

• Connect the power interconnect to the outlet on the back panel of the 40 PSU marked ‘40 PSU OUTPUT’. Tighten the screw latches on the connector finger tight.
• Locate the power inlet marked ‘USE 40 PSU ONLY’ on the back panel of the partnering Cyrus product.
• Place the 40 PSU in a position where the free end of the power interconnect can reach this power inlet without stretching the cable or stressing the connectors.

  • There is no energy-saving auto-standby setting for the 40 PSU as it will always be set to the same power state as the Cyrus product it is connected to. If auto-standby is required it can be enabled at the connected product.

Checking the version from the 40 PSU

The 40 PSU firmware version is displayed as a code on the Standby/Status indicator when mains power is first connected. The version is read as follows –

After a short delay, the Standby/Status LED will indicate the firmware version with a sequence of red flashes (the first digit) followed by a sequence of green flashes (the second digit). The absence of green flashes indicates the second digit is 0. The sequence ends with the Standby/Status indicator lighting red continuously to indicate standby mode is now set.

The standby/Status indicator doesn’t light.

Standby/Status indicator flashes.

Standby/Status indicator lights blue. This indicates that an error has been identified within the 40 PSU. A 40 PSU error message will also be displayed on the connected Cyrus product.
