- Follow your drill manufacturer’s instructions and safety guidelines.

- Disconnect the power tool attachment from the power supply when not in use, before servicing, when making adjustments, and when changing accessories such as cutters. Ensure switch is in “off” position and the cutter has stopped rotating.

DRILL GUIDE – SETUP
ԶԳՈՒՇԱՑՈՒՄ. The concealed 35mm Hinge Cutter included with this jig is a custom length with a shoulder for accurately positioning the Depth Stop. Use Trend CAB/BIT/35TC as a direct replacement. Turn the Drill Guide clockwise to remove it from the Base.
- Insert the 35mm Hinge Cutter into the Drill Guide from the underside, place the Washer in the recess on top of the Drill Guide then place the spring on top of the Washer. Slide the Depth Stop onto the Hinge Cutter shaft until it is seated on the shaft shoulder. (Fig. 2)
- Tighten the grub screw with the Hex Key. (Fig. 3)
INSET POSITIONS
- Consult your hinge manufacturer’s instructions for the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the 35mm hinge position. Where the manufacturer’s instructions specify the distance, refer to the below table for the correct inset setup on your jig. (Fig. 4)

- Using the pins provided, insert 1 pin into each hole for the desired inset. (Fig.5)
Pilot Hole Plate Setup
- Attach Magnetic Pilot Hole Plate to the underside of the jig. (Fig. 6)
- Pilot holes should always face away from the desired inset. (Fig. 7)
ԳՈՐԾՈՒՄ
- Make a trial hinge recess in a waste piece of material before using the template on a door, and adjust if needed.
- Ensure the working position is comfortable, especially when setting up the template and drilling a hinge recess in the door.
Ensure door and jig are clamped and held securely at all times when using the template.
Jig Positioning & Hinge Cutting
- Using a pencil and square, mark the center line of the required hinge position from either the top or bottom of the door. (Fig. 8)
- Position the jig body with pins against the edge of the door. (Fig. 9)
- Align the jig with the centreline. (Fig. 10)
- Clamp the jig to the door on both sides. (Fig. 11)
- Lock drill guide into jig body turning clockwise. (Fig. 12)
- Attach drill to the hinge cutter and drill until the Depth Stop meets the Drill Guide. (Fig. 13)
- Remove drill from Hinge Cutter and remove the Drill Guide from the Jig Body by rotating counter-clockwise. (Fig. 14)
- Drill 2mm pilot holes for the hinge mounting plate. (Fig. 15) Take care to ensure pilot holes are drilled to the correct depth.
