When Wofford College does not own or cannot directly access a book, article, or other information source, Sandor Teszler Library can typically acquire a scan or temporary loan of the item from another library. Wofford College is a member of the consortium Partnership Among South Carolina Academic Libraries (PASCAL) which provides quick access to resources in most of the academic libraries in the state. We encourage you to take advantage of the PASCAL Delivers service anytime you need a book that you cannot find in our library. Information on using PASCAL Delivers can be found below.
If you need an article or a book that is not owned or accessible through a library in South Carolina, Sandor Teszler Library staff will identify another library willing to loan or scan the item, and will request it for you. This service is called Interlibrary Loan (ILL). Information about using ILL can be found below.
PASCAL and ILL services are available to all Wofford College students, faculty, and staff at no charge.
PASCAL Delivers
If Wofford doesn't have what you are looking for, you can click the "PASCAL Delivers" menu option in the OneSearch dialog box.
You can click that option to search the other South Carolina academic libraries.
Follow the instructions to request that the item be delivered to Sandor Teszler Library for you. PASCAL items typically arrive within 3-5 business days.
Interlibrary Loan
If you are using OneSearch or another database and you have determined that Wofford does not have access to a resource you need, and you can't access it through PASCAL, you can submit an ILL request. Please provide as much information as possible when you fill out the forms. We have separate forms for different types of information resources:
All PASCAL Delivers and ILL items can be picked up at the circulation desk in the library, unless the item, such as a journal article or book chapter, is delivered electronically. You will be notified when your PASCAL or ILL item is ready.
If you need assistance with your resource sharing request, you can call 597-4300 or email your question to ILL@wofford.edu.
