Spellbinders | Holiday Cards and Tags feat. Essential Holiday Collection by Lisa Horton
I'm back with some Spellbinders projects featuring the Essential Holiday Collection by Lisa Horton. One of the products featured on all of these projects is the Nested Tree Frames and I was immediately enamoured with the adorable layered tree die!
The Nested Tree Frames includes four layers of frames and I used the two largest frames here, in Mahogany and Crimson. I cut the tree from Pink Sand, Ruby Linen, Silver Glitter and Mahogany cardstock.
Before assembling the card, I used Mulled Wine ink to press the sentiment from the Essential Tag Accessories Press Plate on to the previously die cut rectangle from Nested Tree Frames. I cut an A2 panel of Ruby Gingham for the card base before popping on the frames and trees with foam squares.
For my second card, I wanted a pop of colour to contrast the first card so I chose Waterfall for the card base. I added texture using the Sparkling Snow 3D Embossing Folder. Next, I die cut the Nested Tree layers from Pink Sand, Ruby Linen, Ruby Gingham, Crimson and Mahogany cardstock. The ornaments I added to the trees were cut from Silver Glitter cardstock.
I heat foiled this beautiful sentiment from the Glitter Wishes Glimmer Hot Foil Plate using Espresso Bean Hot Foil on Snowdrift cardstock and die cut it using one of the fishtail dies from Mini Everyday Sentiments.
I was so excited to see a tag set as part of the Essential Holiday Collection and the Essential Tag Accessories Press Plates will get lots of use! I used the same colours from the first two cards, switching up the look of the trees with colourful snowy trims. I rotated the colours for the tags themselves so each tag would feature all the colours.
The sentiments from the Essential Tag Accessories Press Plate were heat foiled with both Espresso Bean Hot Foil and Matte Silver Hot Foil. The 'O Christmas Tree' sentiment was a little long for the die cut so I used partial die cutting to extend it. To finish, I combined Valentine's Day baker's twine and silver metallic cord for the perfect match.

Spellbinders | Peace on Earth feat. Sealed 3D Christmas Collection
Today's card features the Sealed Poinsettia Stems from the Sealed 3D Christmas Collection. I don't think I've made a card this clean and simple in years but I'm loving it and don't know why I don't design this way more often. After all, it was my signature style many years ago when I first started blogging. For instance, these two cards come to mind: Smarty Pants and Merry Fitness. I'll always love them! ;)
One reason I wanted to keep this card so simple was to show off the stunning pressed poinsettia and foliage. Using the same colour palette as my corresponding guest post on the Spellbinders Blog, I cut the card base from the Nested Postage Labels from Poppy cardstock and the stitched mat from Nectar cardstock. Before adhering the stitched mat to the card base, I pressed the Sealed Poinsettia Stems with coordinating Nectar ink.
Next, I used heat foiled one of the sentiments from Sealed Poinsettia Stems with Speckled Aura Hot Foil on Juniper cardstock and die cut it using the coordinating die. I wanted to add a bit of Tidepool into this card so I created a shadow using the slightly larger circle from Bouquet Full of Joy. I tied a bow using the Vivant Circle Metallic Cord and popped on the sentiment with black foam squares. Bouquet Full of Joy is a very similar set to Sealed Poinsettia Stems and includes the stunning heat foiled bow you see in the sneak peek below.
If you missed my last post, I also shared a set of holiday gift boxes on the Spellbinders Blog today. Be sure to head to that post HERE for more inspiration. You can also find a full visual supply list on my blog HERE.

Lunar New Year Challenge | The High Tops You've Always Wanted
Hello, crafty friends! I'm back with my second card for the August Lunar New Year Challenge and this one features products from our annual sponsor My Favorite Things. All four of our sponsors are giving away ONE $25 gift certificate each so that means there's a total of $100 in giveaways in August!
Today's card was inspired by THIS card created by my Challenge teammate Amy Tsuruta back in March. It took me a while to get my hands on the All-Star High Top dies from a local craft store but I couldn't wait to make these Chinese New Year high tops which I totally want for myself. Amy used a dragon on her high tops but I wanted to use flowers in Gold Hot Foil. I looked through my stash and the Flower Delivery bouquet was perfectly-sized.
I wasn't sure about all the black on this card but I think it balances the red, white and gold beautifully. Plus, high tops aren't high tops without the white sole and black piping. Did you know they sell customized versions where you can pick any colour you want for every panel? I used the Black and White Stripes 6x6 Paper Pack for the base panel and cut the vellum with the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 1 dies.
The sentiment from Celebrate Everything was stamped with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink, then heat embossed with a combination of gold and clear embossing powder. I simply sprinkled gold embossing powder on the bottom before topping it off with clear embossing powder. To finish, I added stars cut from gold foil, glitter red and glitter black cardstock, then strung up the high tops with black cord.
The rules are simple. You must create a new Lunar New Year, Chinese New Year or a 2024 Dragon Birthday card and add the link to your post in the link-up party. Multiple entries are allowed. Backlinking to an older project is strictly prohibited.
Our August Lunar New Year Challenge will run from 12:00am EST on August 1, 2024 through 12:00pm EST on August 31, 2024. We would love to see you using products from our four generous sponsors! The four lucky winners will be randomly selected from all eligible entries and announced at the start of the September Challenge.

Ellen Hutson | Essentials by Ellen March 4th Release | Reveal Week - Day 3 + Gift With Purchase!
It's an exciting week with a new Essentials by Ellen Release available this Friday, March 4th! Today is Day 3 of Reveal Week and we're sneak peeking two new sets - Berry Basket and Strawberry Fields. I'm so in love with today's products, especially the Berry Basket, which can be used in so many ways and over the next few days I'll be sharing different ways to use it.
The Berry Basket Die is meant to be used as a 3D gift box in its original format and you'll see that below. On my card, I've used it flat on a card but I've layered it with Hero Hues Paradise cardstock to make it appear dimensional. I also partially die cut the bottom of the die cut to preserve the corners and perfect edge that the die provides, rather than simply cutting it off with a trimmer.
To fill the basket with strawberries, I stamped all of the images from Strawberry Fields using Catherine Pooler's inks. I ombre-stamped the strawberries using Party Dress and Coral Cabana, using a blending brush to soften the transition, and Garden Party to stamp the tops. Then I used Catching Rays to stamp the bee, Lemongrass and Party Dress to stamp the little flowers, and Lime Rickey and Grass Skirt to stamp the leaves.
I created the card base and panel using white linen cardstock, then glued the back layer of the Berry Basket on to the panel. I added the strawberries and leaves with glue dots. I stamped the sentiment and die cut it using the Tag Trio Dies, adding a gold glitter layer. I attached the tag to the basket with metallic gold string and popped on the front of the basket with foam tape.
I love making tags and gift boxes and definitely don't make enough of them. This new Berry Basket Die will change the way you share your gifts! To make this box, I cut four pieces of the die from kraft cardstock, using liquid glue to attach the tabs at the top and bottom of the box.
Inside this box, for show, I used a piece of 12x12 patterned paper and the We R Memory Keepers Gift Box Punch Board to create a box. To give you an idea of the volume inside the Berry Basket, the gift box measures 2.5" x 2.5" x 2.5". I created the layered tag from heavyweight white cardstock and Paradise cardstock, die cut from the Farmhouse Tags. I added the previously stamped images from Strawberry Fields and popped on a heat foiled sentiment from the Casual Greetings Hot Foil Stamp Set, shared in yesterday's post. I tied the tag on to the box using Midnight twine.
Ellen Hutson is running a gift with purchase March 1st through 7th. You will get the Lucky stamp set free with any purchase of $75 or more! This means you can qualify for this free set when the new release goes live, while supplies last. It's a fun and fabulous freebie so get it while you can!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll see you again tomorrow for more sneak peeks!

VIDEO | Taylored Expressions | Easter Tags feat. Spring Squad Die & Clear Combo
Hello, crafty friends! I hope you're all well. We're heading into a four-day weekend here and I'm looking forward to chilling out and getting a lot of crafty deadlines met. If you loved the Snow Squad Die & Clear Stamp Combo, you're sure to love the new Spring Squad Die & Clear Stamp Combo from the Easter Release by Taylored Expressions.
I love these adorable springtime animals and look forward to mixing and matching them with the previously-released bear, penguin and snowman, even if they might not normally hang out in real life. LOL
I wanted to create tags that open up for a message so I die cut two each of the largest Pierced Tag Stacklets 2 Dies from Mint Julep, Sprinkles and Guava cardstock. I partially die cut the top tag to make it shorter in a design that would allow the sentiment to show at the bottom.
I die cut the Tag Reinforcements from the same three colours and rotated them so that all three colours would be represented on each tag.
Using Cherry Pop, Guava, Peaches 'n Cream, Pineapple, Potato Chip, Sugar Cube and Sea Salt cardstock, I die cut all the parts for each of the animals and used corresponding Peaches 'n Cream, Pineapple and Sea Salt ink and Bitty Blender Brushes to add depth and dimension to some of the larger pieces.
Be sure to check out the rest of the Easter Release and take advantage of the class with purchase and other freebies!
Thanks so much for watching!

Catherine Pooler | At Home Collection | Release Day!
This time, I stamped one handled-clock from the Every Minute Stamp Set in Garden Party, Uptown and Pucker Up. I rotated the colours and styles of the hours and the hands so all three colours would be represented in each clock. I layered the front of the clock using the coordinating Every Minute Dies and set them aside.
I looped silver cord to the three clocks and attached them to the card base. I also added a few sequins from the Tinseltown Sequin Mix to tie in with the silver cords.
All of these colours coordinate with the new Date Night Minis, also being released this month. If you missed any of my inspiration featuring the At Home Collection, you can find those posts below:

Today is the last day to link up your entries for the 12 Tags of Christmas Challenge to win a $100 gift certificate, as well as comment on all the Ellen Hutson blog posts for your chance to win one of three $25 gift certificates to the Ellen Hutson store. All of the Essentials by Ellen products I used on these tags are 25% off until 11:59pm PST tomorrow, December 17th using code EBEDEC2021.
These Shaker Globe tags were inspired by the following songs for the 12 Tags of Christmas Challenge: Day 4 -- Let It Snow, Day 5 -- I'll Be Home for Christmas, and Day 12 -- Holly Jolly Christmas.
I die cut these Shaker Globe tags from Juicy Pear, Easter Grass and Caramel Apple cardstock. Then I curved two sentiments from Merry Little Christmas and stamped them on the base of the globes.
Then I stamped images from Merry Little Christmas on the backs of two shakers and a sentiment from Retro Holiday Greetings on the third.
The holly tag features images from Holiday Sprigs, stamped with Rockin' Red, Martini and Spruce inks. The snow tag features the Snowflakes Dies in Peppermint and silver glitter cardstock, which is also bannered across the base of each globe and at the ribbon attachment. To finish, I filled each shaker with three types of star sequins and tied them off with ribbon and white twine.
