Mecca Bingo Hosts First Cross-Channel Slots Tournament in Luton

Mecca Bingo recently celebrated its first-ever cross-channel slots tournament in Luton, Bedfordshire, uniting slot enthusiasts from both online and physical locations. This landmark event, sponsored by Blueprint Gaming, saw an exciting mix of participants vying for substantial prizes.

The competition kicked off with a series of preliminary rounds, culminating in a grand final that featured the top 16 contenders. These finalists, comprising eight online and eight retail players, competed for a total prize pool of £25,000 ($31,905). The event reached its climax with Andrew Thorpe taking home the top prize of £10,000.

Introducing Innovative Products

Reflecting on his victory, Thorpe shared, “The whole night was surreal, I expected to go out in the first round as I’m not usually that lucky! Just getting to the final was amazing.”

Commenting on the event, Meccabingo.com Head Robert Lee expressed his delight: “It was great to see players from across the country come together to experience the joy of what Mecca has to offer... A special thanks to our tournament sponsors, Blueprint Gaming and of course a huge congratulations to our Slots champion, Andrew. We look forward to hosting our next tournament very soon.”

Blueprint Gaming Account Manager Jack Lawson also praised the event: “It was a pleasure to be involved with and sponsor the Mecca Bingo Slots Tournament 2024 in Luton... We’re very much looking forward to showcasing more of our product portfolio at events in the future.”

This tournament is part of Mecca Bingo’s broader strategy to introduce innovative products and events throughout the year. In January, the company launched Spingo, a unique blend of spin classes and bingo available at its retail locations. By April, Mecca Bingo had introduced free line dancing classes at its venues, tapping into the growing ‘Cowboy Core’ trend in the UK.

In addition to these new activities, Mecca Bingo recently collaborated with ITV to create digital scratchcards themed around the popular morning talk show, Loose Women. In an interview featured in the June issue of Trafficology, Mecca Bingo's Head of PR and Social Media, Mark Cheevers, discussed the company's history of celebrity partnerships and its foray into influencer marketing.

The success of the cross-channel slots tournament highlights Mecca Bingo’s commitment to providing diverse and engaging experiences for its players, blending traditional bingo with contemporary gaming trends. The company’s focus on community and innovation ensures that it remains a leading name in the gaming industry.
