Mores et oecologia
[recensere | fontem recensere]Otididae sunt omnivora et indagatores occasionis, qui foliis, gemmis, seminibus, fructibus, invertebratis, parvisque vertebratis vescuntur.[1] Nidos in solo faciunt, unde ova et fetura saepe praedatoribus obeunt. Firme cruribus pollicibusque pedis ambulant, cibum temere vellicantes. Plurimae currere potius quam volare malunt. Femina a tribus ad quinque ova obscura et maculosa in lacuna in solo ponit, quae sola incubat.[2]
