Who still remembers the disaster that was The Emoji Movie? I don’t, because I never saw it. The idea of it just didn’t quite seem to make up for a good movie. Now, how about smileys in slot form? Theme

A combination of sports and smileys means that the reels are full of both. Mobilots has gone with a selection of popular sports, such as tennis, weight lifting, fencing and gymnastics. You’ll also find a few symbols that mix in themes like Olympics. Sound effects are a mixed bag, adding in noises of the crowd as well as effects when certain sports result in winning combinations. As this game uses clusterpays, the possible wins are totally out of whack when compated to the low volatility. The way cluster pays works, is that all adjacent symbols, whether horizontal or vertical, are counted as a combination. Minimum you need is four, with each extra symbols adding a bit more pay to the prizes.

Features

There are two features in this game, and both depend on progress rather than being random payouts:

• The bonus game.

On each spin you have a chance to land the bonus symbol, which comes in different shapes. Each symbol adds a certain percentage towards unlocking the bonus feature, which in turn will allow you to pick instant cash wins. The progress is saved from one playthrough to another.

• The jackpot.

The jackpot works in a similar way, with the jackpot symbol adding to the meter found on the right-hand side of the screen. Once the meter is full you are paid the jackpot, which will be minimum of 50 USD.

Our Take

Sporty Smileys surprises with some big wins, though for the most part you will have to do with significantly smaller scores. The bonus features are not the main breadwinner here, instead just giving you a chance to increase your bankroll a bit to keep spinning for those big wins. This is a surprisingly versatile slot, and might well be worth a spin or two.
