::)
So I went to the store today any purchased prepaid cards to use for online casino play. After one of the cards were declined, casino customer service informed me that it was because the cards can only be used in the US. I drove 80 miles to get these damn cards.
Are there any casinos that can get around this issue?

if you are going to get prepaid cards make sure they are from MasterCard - for some reason the prepaid VISA tends to have problems in both US and Canada.
what casino site(s) are you playing? if you look at the reviews here you will also be able to see the various payment methods that the casino accepts. And from those methods you could consider opening an account with one or more of the methods listed. These accounts (e-wallet accounts) usually would not accept using the a prepaid gift or creditcard to load but if you don't have a non-prepaid creditcard some methods can also do direct bank transfers.
good luck with that - and don't hesitate to ask for help.

Hi Jeana,
When playing prepaid credit cards online there is certain things you need to look for. The reason your card would not work is because it was only valid to purchase within the US.
There are two types of cards. One is to purchase within the US only and the other card is an international card that can be used anywhere in the world. That is the card you need. It will state on the back of the packaging what type of card it is.
Also check that it does not have restrictions for gambling. A good cards to use are Netspend which can purchased at the store or online @ www.NetSpend.com, Greendot available at Walmart and All Access Gift Cards available at convenient stores and gas stations.
Hope that helps some.

when u buy a prepaid debit card
make sure it is a
ALL ACCESS CARD
2 companies that i know of you can apply online, and u can research where you can reload, near your location,
NETSPEND.COM
GREENDOT.COM
hi nicenez,
thanks to my work, greendot thinks i am a terrorist, and shutdown my account after having it for over 8 years. i am devastated. i deposit a lot of money into this account, and when trying to negotiate with them, they would have nothing to do with it. they said i could NEVER have another account again as long as i lived. end of story, then hung up on me. they mailed me a check for my balance.
now that i only have netspend left...(and i really do thank god i found my netspend card i had stashed away)...i can only deposit 100. increments. this is crazy. if i want to deposit the max they allow 400 (which sucks)
i have to deposit it 4 times, and pay 4 service charges...THEN another dollar each gets deducted from my account.
at least greendot didn't charge me ANY charges, because i deposited over 1000.
do you know of any place where netspend takes deposits greater than 100?? and maybe a larger reload than 400??

No Lakoda that's not dumb. A law was passed some years ago which makes it illegal for banks and casinos to exchange money (With the gamblers permission) all in effort to stop the flow of money to terrorists.
Worked pretty good hey?
So up sprang Quick Tender and several other ways to circumvent these rules. -

I have seen one now has "Paper" checks I'd guess they'll send it via usps or the echeck, but be careful, they charge $16.95 for that and your bank may charge for trceiving it (Mine does) and tack on $15 more.
They won't "Credit" that prepaid card though...
If you can wait, the paper check is cheaper though. -

I'd watch out what netspend card you get though. There now even including in the terms it's not to be used for gambling. So I'm guessing that here in the near future gambling transactions are going to be a thing of the past.
Green dots are good as long as you have a wal-mart, kmart, wal greens or CVS near you. If you don't, your stuck with western union or money gram. Sometimes as other people have found out those can get harry.
The other option that I have found works if you have a grocery store near you that sells them. Is the only1 visa card. It doesn't work for gambling, gambling transactions per se, but as long as they have another transaction code besides gambling. You should be alright. Even the temp card worked for all my online gaming transactions, which was pretty sweet for a temp card.
The other good option is eWalletExpress, but watch out with this one. The fees can get steep, and the transactions don't come out of your bank account right away. Sometimes it can take up to 4 business days for the transaction to happen. So if you have a tendency to after a day or two think there not going to take there money then spend what you had used for gambling. You could get yourself into a heap of trouble this way. Also the withdrawal fees are also a bit on the steep side. So it's an ok option if you don't want to mess around with prepaid cards or your bank debit card.
One more option I have seen is called wallet E points. It's being offered by Top Game casinos. It's another checking account option, but there isn't any fees attached to the depositing of funds for the player. So it's not a bad option, just not sure how the withdrawal option goes. If you'd have to do a check or a wire transfer, or if they'd throw it back in your account.
As far as quicktender goes. If you want an option that you have to be invited for. It's an ok option if you don't mind the 5% processing fee for using a debit/prepaid credit card or paying your banks wire transfer fee. It's not bad. The withdrawal process for what I have seen is the fatest of them all and has a flat rate of $30, plus whatever your bank incoming international wire transfer fee is.
So there's my little speil of what I have found works so far. -

So Genenco and cheetahwind, does this mean no prepaid visa can receive my withdrawal? I withdraw to Quicktender and from there normally my bank. I don't want to use them now, so I'm thinking of opening a different account, one that will take international bank wires. I have an Ace Cash Advance Netspend card.. ... This writing is so small. While I know the routing number and account number and bank name are for direct deposit purposes, I still have this notion it can be used with Quicktender. But I really don't want to do anything till I'm sure so as not to delay things any longer. Then I know I read somewhere no international wires or deposits, not sure which card said it. You see whats happening now? I'm setting myself up to go into the $1000 and try and get it big enough to cover catching up on 1 months mortgage payment so we'll only be 1 month behind and cover the negative balance at bank, which is same size as mortgage payment, and so we can do business again. Even if a prepaid card could accept an incoming maybe it can't be that big. All these different kinds of cards are pretty much the same, but is there any chance one might be different. Or are these prepaid cards only intended for groups of people who have bills less than $400? I'm sure this type of cards sole purpose :to fund or be funded" , not to to accrue all kinds of fees.

You are correct NO prepaid card can receive deposits except by YOU.
Even if you authorize the payment, the casino cannot "Return" the cash to the card.
Now here it is about QT.
You can deposit to them for free or 5% of the deposit. They then want a fee of 8% or so to return it to your bank account..
Depending on amount e-check or check is cheaper option.
As for netspend, I have no idea, I don't deal with them as they are fee hungry
As a side note, if you're in trouble with the bank due to housing. I'd stay away from any gambling till that was remedied -

and heads up,save all your prepaid cards...you never know if they'll come back and ask for a card number, even if its an oooold one...ive learned that
YES Great Tip! I keep all mine in a shoebox and even have every number, serial number and csv recorded in a spreadsheet for my own records. There have been times when I was asked to produce scans of the front and back a the card(s). Therefore never throw them out. Better keep them than to be sorry later because you didn't. -

Yes, definately a great tip...lots of them ask for scans of the cards, even if you didn't use a card on a free-chip. If you had used a card on a previous deposit, they want all your scans.
Here is another tip...for your own security, you do not have to include the whole 16 digit number when you send it to them, you can erase the 8 middle numbers.

LOL!! We have all learned from our mistakes probably!! I have more cards than jewelry in my jewelry box.
Hey jeana,
I use www.netspend.com and www.metropcs.com/visa both of the cards you can actually order online. About a week after that when the card arrives you can load them at any MoneyGram location. (I go to Longs Drug Store / CVS)
Hey Sodaaaaaa,
Kinda odd that Vanilla Visa is all good for you Canadians, it is a NO GO for casinos here in the States. I learned that the hard way.
