Casino Miami Review

I have never been to Miami, so when me and a few friends planned a surprise bachelorette party getaway for the bride-to-be, we all agreed that would be an awesome spot.

The hotel we stayed at was paradise with beautiful gardens, pool and beach that was steps away. The ocean was the color you thought only existed in your dreams and the weather was perfect.

I heard everything there was super pricey, and to be honest, it was an understatement. A round of drinks for 5 was $75 and gratuity was automatically tacked on at the bars and restaurants regardless of how small or large your group was. Needless to say, it was worth every single penny and given the chance I would do it all over again tomorrow.

Our stay was for 5 days, and on the 4th day some of the girls wanted to go on a boat excursion through the everglades but there were not enough seats left for us all to go. I opted to stay behind and just chill by the beach when Glo offered to stay behind with me so I wasn’t alone. I fought her tooth and nail and told her to go ahead and have a good time… but that all changed quickly after she told me what was on her mind!

Sure, here I thought the whole time she wanted to keep me company but her real agenda was to hit Casino Miami. I mean seriously I could I tell her no, after all she did oblige to stay with me right? After a bit of twisting my arm (NOT) we grab a taxi to the Casino, the rest of the girls headed to the everglades.

I was bit a disappointed when I first got there for a couple reasons – the casino lacked all the glitz and glamour on the outside as well as the inside and the staff didn’t show warm hospitality.

Glo was gone like a bullet while I decided to get a player’s card hopefully so they would send me free trips to come back hahaha! I did get $25 free play that was loaded on my card and would get cash-back on my losses sent to me in the mail. Unfortunately, I would be long gone by that time.

I circled the Casino once but couldn’t find the Video Poker section. I stopped along the way to play the Stinkin Rich Slot and hit a nice Bonus and cashed out $200 on $40. After a second go around the entire Casino floor, and no luck, I asked a manager walking around with his radio where the Video Poker section was.

Now, any time I had ever asked this at a new Casino I have always been walked there by an employee; not this time. Nope, he simply said “turn right ahead and follow the curve until it ends.” I said thanks and was on my merry way when I still couldn’t find it, and it was my third trip around when I saw a slot host and asked her. She pointed to the furthest corner of the Casino and I told her all I saw was Keno. She said there are a “couple” of Video Poker machines along the wall.

Did she literally mean “A COUPLE” as in two? No, it can’t be, it simply can’t be! I stroll over to the corner and lo and behold there is actually a total of three Video Poker machines and I think to myself, what the hell is this!? There was guy playing on one side and another on the other side and here I was sandwiched between them both.

I plopped in a $20 bill and realized all they had was single handed poker in several variations. Thinking, I ain’t staying here for long, I played two hands on quarters when the machine froze! The service button didn’t work so I had to hit the service button on another machine. I waited 20 minutes for a tech to come to my rescue. She said it had to be rebooted and we waited another 5 minutes for it to reload.

I couldn’t play down my $20 quick enough so I raised my bet to the .50 denomination and on the second hand (no it didn’t freeze again) I was dealt three aces and on the draw, and caught the fourth ace & the kicker for $2,000. YEAHH baby, I was really thrilled! Now it took another 20 minutes for the slot host to come over and pay me, but trust me, I am not complaining! I called Glo to tell her, and she came running over from the other side of the Casino, and I gave her 100 bucks to play with.

So now I figure the .50 is done so I move up to $1 and you’re not gonna believe this but on the SECOND hand again (what is it about the second hand on this machine) I get dealt four 3’s and the kicker…I was in total shock and disbelief! I just won a total of $4,000 on a $20 bill in about 5 minute’s actual play time. The wait this time to get paid was 30 minutes! Again I call Glo and tell her I won another $2,000 and she comes running again and I give her another $100 bill!

With all this time on my hands, I texted the girls and had to Skype call my dear bud Zuga to tell him about my new found fortune. I told him even while on vacation I am still working scouting out Casinos. Zuga didn’t buy that for one second as he laughed into the phone, congratulated me and told me not to give it all back!

Not only did it pay for my entire Miami trip, but I had plenty leftover. That night I took the girls to a nice beachfront restaurant where we had a pitcher of cocktails and a nice dinner.
