Back Continent 8 Technologies Prepares to Set Foot in Kentucky

Continent 8 Technologies, a trusted supplier of managed hosting, connectivity, cloud, and security solutions continues with its first-to-market strategy by entering Kentucky. As this US state progressed notably with the legalization of online sports betting, the company is making the necessary preparations to be ready from day one.

Being at the forefront of the industry for more than two decades and a half, Continent 8 has an impressively vast network of associates. Thanks to deep industry knowledge, rich experience, and above all customer-centric approach, the corporation has established itself as a reliable brand in Europe, the Americas, and Asia.

Vast Knowledge and Extensive Experience

As soon as the market goes live, operators and suppliers in Kentucky will be able to access Continent 8’s full suite of unrivaled products. Local clients will be able to take advantage of the dedicated data center in the state, including supporting hybrid cloud deployments with the renowned associates such as GCP, Azure and AWS.

Nick Nally, Chief Revenue Officer at Continent 8 Technologies, explained:

“Our rapid launch into Kentucky is only possible because of the unrivaled knowledge and experience that Continent 8’s planning and delivery function has in implementing its solutions in the regulated US market. We work ahead of operator service requirements to be able to deliver fast to our customers”.

Dany Chapdelaine, Director of Planning and Delivery at Continent 8 Technologies also noted that the company’s approach in North America help them build the reputation of a trusted infrastructure partner of choice. The way he sees it, this significant project is “another major step forward” for both the company itself and its partners.

An important thing to note is that this is not the first US state Continent 8 has so far conquered. In April this year, the corporation received a sports wagering license from the Massachusetts Gaming Commission. Approximately a year earlier, the provider was greenlighted by PGCB to launch in Pennsylvania.

What’s even more, Continent 8 Technologies entered a milestone agreement with the Government of Gibraltar. Upon passing a tender process to earn a new five-year contract, the company will continue providing hosting services until June 2027.

A Closer Look at Sports Betting in Kentucky

According to the predictions made by the analysts, Kentucky could generate $23m in tax revenue each year, securing its position as one of the most significant states for the regulated US online sports betting market.

As far as mentioned in the last month’s regulatory report, Governor Andy Beshear signed HB 551 into law, approving the legalization of retail and online sports betting. Following the approval, the nine racetracks in the state would be given the right to offer the said services via three skins each. The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission would be a body in charge of supervising this field.

At the same time, the Governor signed HB 594, legislation to specifically prohibit unauthorized gaming machines. Under this bill, operators are not permitted to host coin-based amusement machines that incorporate any element of chance and offer any prizes of value.
