Chinese Government Arrests Over 30K People in Anti-Gambling Crusade

The Xinhua official news agency has released the stats on the Chinese government’s crackdown on gambling over the last two months.

According to reports, more than 30,000 people have been arrested during the anti-gambling crusade. Most recently, the arrests have taken place in Guangdong and continue as officials sniff out gambling activity.

In Huizhou City, police say that they’ve busted an online gambling ring involving 30 million yuan ($6.39 million) on November 24, 2014.

Wow 30,000 people really is a quite unbelievable number of arrests and you have to wonder just how many of thesep people have ended up getting caught up in what was obviously a very wide net! As fantastic as the chinese economy may be, it still is not a place I would like my children to grow up thats for sure.

Arrested over 30,000 people. Where are they keeping these people? Come on, that is just outrageous. Now the taxpayers will have to pay to house and feed all these people that don't make bail, if you can make bail in China. Bet that was some raid. These are the people that we read about recently, China giving classes to stop online gambling. I don't think this is the way to go. Just processing 30,000 people arrested seems like a daunting task. What is the message here.
