I tried to do as much online chicken keeping research as I could but this simple fact fell through the cracks. I thought they would get all the calcium they needed from their feed!

Chickens 20+ weeks (egg laying age) should have access to a calcium supplement to support their bodies in producing beautiful strong eggshells. Offering oyster shells on the side, like the ones from @scratchandpeckfeeds, will give your hens the opportunity to take as much as they need, when they need it! 

(Sometimes it looks like they’re not eating it at all, but don’t worry, they are 🙃)
