The boat wheel frame is carved from wood and the Neptune and Mermaid are modeled with epoxy clay. The shells and barnacles for the decoration are are casted with epoxy clay. The artwork is then completely covered with brass coating and oxidized with natural tiffany green patina. It is protected with a lacquer that stops the oxidation and makes sure that the color does not change over time.
