Today marks 80 years since Goofy first appeared in a Disney cartoon. Originally named Dippy Dawg, and making his debut in "Mickey's Revue" (first released on May 25, 1932), his name was changed to Goofy in "Orphan's Benefit" (first released on August 11, 1934). Goofy has been my favorite Disney character since I was just a little kid. Perhaps it's because I can relate to his silly antics.

Maximillian "Max" Goof is a major character of the Mickey Mouse franchise who is the son of Goofy. He first appeared in the 1992 television series Goof Troop as an 11½-year-old.
