Fibrous joints are where two adjacent bones are bound by collagen fibers. The three types include: sutures (immobile or slightly mobile, occur in the skull only), gomphoses (the attachment of a tooth into its socket), and syndesmoses (a fibrous joint where two bones are bound by relatively long collagen fibers
