The purpose of the study was to design two cognitive behavioral treatments (CBT) for people with ... more The purpose of the study was to design two cognitive behavioral treatments (CBT) for people with fibromyalgia (FM): therapy with electromyographic biofeedback (T1) and therapy without biofeedback (T2); and to assess their effects on psychopathological symptoms. The study was carried out with 88 people diagnosed with FM, aged between 26 and 65 years; 33 received T1, 33 received T2, and 22 were assigned to a control group without treatment. An evaluation was performed before and after a treatment of 10 sessions with the “Symptom Checklist-90-Revised,” the “State-Trait Anxiety Inventory,” the “Beck Depression Inventory” and “State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory”. The results showed that participants who had received a treatment decreased symptoms of hostility, state-anxiety, trait-anxiety, depression, trait-anger, and anger expression (p< .05). The effects of the two treatments were similar, and no significant group differences were found for any variable. The control group decreased less the symptoms, increasing anxiety and anger. This work provides an efficacious tool to reduce psychopathological symptoms and negative feelings in people with FM

Th... more The differential characteristics of gifted students can make them vulnerable to cyberbullying. There is very little empirical evidence about cyberbullying and giftedness. In the Spanish context, it is unexplored. The main goal of this work is to determine the prevalence of cyberbullying, its distribution in the different roles, and its relationship with other psychological variables. A cross-sectional study was performed with 255 gifted students (M = 11.88 years, SD = 2.28 years) in Spain (155 males, 60.8%). We used the cyberbullying test and the Spanish versions of the DASS-21, ISEL, KIDSCREEN-10, and the SWLS. The results indicate that 25.1% of the students are pure-cybervictims, 3.9% pure-cyberbullies, and 6.6% cyberbully-victims. Pure-cybervictims and cyberbully-victims present worse scores (p < 0.001) in health-related quality of life, depression, life satisfaction and stress than the uninvolved individuals. between antisocial b... more The three objectives of this research were: 1) to analyse the relationships
between antisocial behavior and several socio-emotional factors of adolescent personality, 2) to identify predicting variables of this behavior, and 3) to determine
whether differences according to gender were involved. The sample was made
up of 174 adolescent aged 12-14 years. The study employed a correlational
methodology, and thirteen evaluation instruments were used in order to assess the
variables. The results of correlational analyses (Pearson) suggest that adolescents
with high antisocial behavior show: few social behaviors of consideration for
others, self-control, prosocial, assertive, and passive behaviors; many aggressive
social behaviors with peers, and low level of social adaptation. Furthermore, these
participants have low self-concept and a negative perception of the classmates.
On the other hand, they have many prejudiced cognitions regarding different
socio-cultural groups, few non prejudiced neutral cognitions, low capacity for
empathy, high impulsiveness, and many scholars problems. Multiple regression
analyses allow identification of the following predicting variables of antisocial
behavior: many aggressive behaviors, few prosocial behaviors, high impulsiveness,
few social behaviors of consideration for others, high negative self-concept, and
few non prejudiced neutral cognitions. ANOVA results did not show significant
gender differences in antisocial behavior.

El objetivo del presente trabajo es determinar la prevalencia de los factores sexo, edad, gravedad y causa de la discapacidad física con relación a las características psicosociales de los adolescentes con deficiencia motora de la provincia de Manabí en Ecuador. La muestra está integrada por 100 estudiantes con edades entre 11 a 19 años, de sexo femenino y masculino; todos diagnosticados con diversos grados de discapacidad motora. Durante el periodo 2018-2020 se administraron instrumentos de medición que permitieron determinar que las participantes de sexo femenino reportan conductas de autocontrol con mayor frecuencia que los participantes de sexo masculino, pero ellas reportan mayor ansiedad social que los de sexo masculino. La muestra fue de 2283 adolescentes del Pais Vasco, Espana (50.5% varones, 49.5% mujeres), de 12 a 17 anos. Con un diseno descriptivo, comparativo y correlacional se administraron 8 instrumentos de evaluacion. Los resultados evidenciaron alta consistencia interna. Los analisis de varianza confirmaron que las mujeres tienen puntuaciones superiores en estrategias cooperativas y pasivas de resolucion de conflictos, y los varones en agresivas. De 12 a 17 anos el uso de las estrategias fue similar. Las coeficientes de correlacion sugieren que los adolescentes que utilizan muchas estrategias cooperativas tienen altos niveles de empatia, inteligencia emocional, extraversion, apertura, amabilidad y responsabilidad, mientras que aquellos que utilizan muchas estrategias agresivas tiene baja empatia, baja autoestima, alta inesta...

Dado el incremento de los casos de cyberbullying entre adolescentes, se vuelve evidente la necesi... more Dado el incremento de los casos de cyberbullying entre adolescentes, se vuelve evidente la necesidad de contar con un instrumento válido y confiable para evaluar la prevalencia del cyberbullying entre adolescentes mexicanos. El presente estudio se planteó como principal objetivo analizar las propiedades psicométricas del Test Cyberbullying (Garaigordobil, 2013) en una muestra de 1155 estudiantes de bachillerato provenientes de cinco establecimientos educativos del occidente de México, de entre 15 y 19 años de edad. Para analizar los datos se llevó a cabo un análisis factorial confirmatorio, que arrojó como resultado un ajuste satisfactorio al modelo trifactorial, acorde al instrumento original, con adecuadas cargas factoriales. Además, las tresescalas que constituyen el instrumento mostraron una adecuada consistencia interna. Los resultados del estudio se discuten en el marco de la literatura contemporánea sobre cyberbullying entre adolescentes.

La muestra consistio en 3.026 adolescentes de 12 a 18 anos del Pais Vasco. Con un diseno predictivo, se administraron 8 instrumentos de evaluacion. Los resultados de los analisis de varianza y post hoc confirman que los ciberagresores (severos y ocasionales) comparados con los que no habian realizado ninguna conducta de cyberbullying (no-ciberagresores), significativamente, en el ultimo ano habian sido victimas y agresores de bullying, cibervictimas, mostraban menor empatia, amabilidad, responsabilidad, autoestima, y mayor neuroticismo, conducta antisocial y problemas escolares.
