DRM (digital rights management) appeared to protect economically digital art and right owners against illegal file sharing and downloading. In this paper, we examined Turkish online music area, business models using DRM, related parties, associations, unions and web sites practicing these models.

Purpose - The purpose of this study was to analyze the combination of old and new media use in Nu... more Purpose - The purpose of this study was to analyze the combination of old and new media use in Nursi movement da’wah in Indonesia.Method– This study used a qualitative method by an approach of combining old and new media in da’wah. The data were collected by interviewing Indonesian figures, observing the Nursi’s da’wah activities, and reading the Risale-I Nur.Result - The results showed that the Nursi movement emphasized a combination of old and new media in doing da’wah. Old media used the Risale-I Nur as a writing media and the radio as an electronic media. The old one was used for disseminating da’wah messages related to theological (aqidah) and Islam law content suitable to the controlling character of old media. New media such as blog-website, WhatsApp, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram were used for conveying da’wah in the form of good words, spiritual advice, and avoiding the issues of khilafiyah (Islamic thoughts differences). Medyanın yıllık reklam gelirlerinde düşüş sürüyor ve kitlesel fonlama, yardımsever zenginlerin desteği ve risk sermayesi şirketlerinin girişimlerinden faydalanma modelleri, gazeteciliğin finansal sorunlarının aşılmasında ilgi çekiyor (Vogt ve Mitchell, 2016). Haber kuruluşlarının karşılaştığı büyük finansal problemlere karşı, gazetecilik uygulamacıları kadar (Overholser, 2006) akademisyenler de (Guensburg, 2008), masrafların zengin yardımseverler ve bağışçılar tarafından karşılandığı kâr amacı gütmeyen medya organizasyonlarının haber ekosistemini destekleyebileceğini savunuyorlar. Bu uygulamalar hem geleneksel, hem de yeni medya için geçerli. Kârlılığı önceliklendirmeyen bu kurumlar, tam sahiplik, ortaklık ve halka açık şirket tiplerinden farklılaşarak, sosyo-politik ve kültürel hedefler ile prensip ve değerler rehberliğinde kurulup yönetiliyorlar. Bazı çalışmalarda “dernek ve vakıf sahipliği modelinin medyanın bağımsız olması için tek yol olduğu” gibi neredeyse ütopik sayılabilecek görüşler var (Loundy, 2007). Medya kurumlarının karşısındaki kriz tek tip olmadığından, tek çözüm elbette dernek ve vakıf sahipliği modeli değil. Sorunun temelinde “Haber üreten bir STK veya kâr amaçlı işletme, harcadığından fazlasını kazanabilir mi?” muamması var.
Araştırmacı gazetecilik, zengin ve güçlü kişi ve şirketler ile ilgili kamusal yararı olan haber üretimi için medyanın özgürlüğü gerekir.
