ABSTRACT After a short introduction of the mission of the COROT space telescope, this paper prese... more ABSTRACT After a short introduction of the mission of the COROT space telescope, this paper presents the scheme of the integration and validation of the payload digital process unit. Next it describes the Software Ground Support Equipment (SGSE) which is a set of software testing tools developed to perform this validation. A simplified description of the payload digital process unit is done before focusing on the details of the validation. This validation has been progressive from the low level services needed to operate the hardware until the scientific algorithms needed to achieve the mission. A dedicated test configuration has been used for each step. A functional test on satellite achieved this validation. SGSE thanks to its versatility and modularity has been very helpful for the whole integration of the payload. After a presentation of the overall architecture this paper focuses on the test preparation and driving application, than on the test monitoring and result analysis application and on the interfaces with the system under test.

It describes the different steps of the RMAP boot mechanism, the performances of this process, the main advantages of such an approach and its integration as a reusable software block in the GERICOS (GEneRIC Onboard Software) framework.
