The first 1000 days of the infant development are utmost important in the neuro-cognoscitive deve... more The first 1000 days of the infant development are utmost important in the neuro-cognoscitive development of the individual; diverse factors modify the intestinal microbiome of the offspring, beginning with the characteristics of the mothers diet, mode of delivery, use of antibiotics, breastfeeding practice, moment of weaning, and many others; the purpose of this review is to state the diverse factors that affect the development of the microbiome and how it affects the brain functionality by altering the gut-brain interaction because of the changes regarding neurotransmisor production and other changes regarding brain functionality and its posterior outcome on the cognoscitive development and behaviour.

Yet about 90% of the patients develop neurological complications. Because of that we evaluate the impact of the diet on the generation of such complications, like the strict galactose restriction and the glycosilation impairment, galactosemia and social interactions as factors that influence neurodevelopment, oxidative stress secondary to galactosemia and its influence on neuroinflamation, epigenetics modifications secondary to the diet and the social interactions and other causes that can affect neurodevelopment on galactosemia.

An example is the case of the mouth microbiome that is dependent on the intimate activities of the female, and therefore could be a factor that relates to preterm labor.
