Metode pengujian yang sering dilakukan menggunakan analisis ANOVA gabungan yang harus memenuhi normalitas data dan homogenitas ragam. Terkadang data yang diperoleh tidak dapat memenuhi asumsi, sehingga diperlukan analisis alternatif menggunakan metode kualitatif, yaitu Additive Main Effect and Main Interaction (AMMI). Penelitian menggunakan empat belas genotip padi gogo pada tujuh lokasi, dengan rancangan percobaan rancangan acak kelompok. Hasil analisis AMMI1 menunjukkan bahwa didapatkan tujuh genotip dengan nilai rerata produksi di atas rata-rata umum yaitu G29, G31, G33, G34, G35, G37, dan G42 (Inpago 9). Cekaman dapat berskala ringan hingga berat sehingga berpotensi menurunkan hasil. Mengetahui kemampuan tanaman dalam beradaptasi dengan lingkungan tercekam sejak dini merupakan informasi penting dalam perakitan varietas unggul baru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis cekaman yang muncul pada 36 galur padi gogo serta mengetahui kemampuan adaptasi galur tersebut dalam menghadapi cekaman lingkungan. Bahan genetik yang digunakan adalah 36 galur padi gogo hasil persilangan dan 2 varietas pembanding yang ditanam sebanyak 4 ulangan. Galur ditanam pada 2 lokasi per daerah dari Propinsi Lampung, DI. Germplasm garden LIPI, Cibinong was built as a local fruit plant garden. The field management also carries out seed propagation and dissemination. This study aims to reveal the genetic diversity of citrus collections and used them as a database for plant breeding and protection activities. This research was conducted at the Agronomy Laboratory for Evaluation of Biotechnology Products-LIPI. Genetic analysis was performed using RAPD techniques, and the resulting data were processed using PowerMarkerver 3.25 and PASTver 3.25 programs. The results showed that seven genetic materials for citrus analyzed with 15 RAPD primers resulted in the mean number of alleles, frequency of main alleles, and heterozygosity are 7.33, 0.49, and 1, respectively. Genetic transformation through embryogenic tissues is known as an effective method for cassava genetic improvements. Objective of this study was to obtain a suitable medium and length of explants to induce embryogenic callus on friable embryogenic callus (FEC) as a target for genetic transformation. Immature leaf lobes (1-3 mm, 3-5 mm and larger than 5 mm in length) of local genotypes of cassava (Adira 4. Menti, Iding, Gebang, Rawi and Timtim-29) cultured in vitro were used as explants. Some varieties of carambola which collected at the Germplasm Garden of Research Center for Biotechnology-LIPI have been used for parent trees of fruit plant production. Therefore, they have to be characterized both phenotypically and genetically. The objective of the study was to analyze the relationship between eight varieties of carambola i.e. Malaysia, Penang, Rawasari, Bangkok, Sembiring, Dewabaru, Demak and Dewimurni at the germplasm garden based on phenotypic and genetic characters. Phenotypic characters were observed directly in the field, whereas genetic characters were observed with RAPD markers using 10 primers. Phylogenetic analysis was done using NT-SYS software showed that there were three clusters of carambola varieties. Cryopreservation of in vitro- cultured zygotic embryos and anthers of various woody-plant species... more Cryopreservation of in vitro- cultured zygotic embryos and anthers of various woody-plant species i.e. Shorea pinanga , Pometia pinnata , Euphoria longan , Litchi chinensis and Nephelium lappaceum and Eryhrina crista-galli was carried out. Zygotic embryos were precultured for 1-6 days on MS basal medium containing high concentration of sucrose prior to exposure to liquid nitrogen (–196oC) using vitrification or vitrification-dehydration techniques, meanwhile anthers were subjected to that using rapid freezing technique. The explants were air dried (1-5 hours) or dehydrated with silica gel (1-6 hours). Cryoprotectant solutions i.e. V0 (0.8 M sucrose + 1.0 M glycerol) and V1 (0.8 M sucrose + 1.0 M glycerol 200 ppm citric acid) were used in this study. Cryopreserved explants were thawed in a waterbath set at 40oC (10-20 min) and regenerated on the same medium used for preculture. Results showed that of species studied only 50% of Litchi chinensis zygotic embryos survived after freezing. Development stages, preculture period, regeneration medium and plant species affected the success of cryopreservation of anthers. Only 15% of Pometia pinnata halved opened and cut anthers which were precultured for 7 days previously survived after rapid freezing. Meanwhile Erythrina crista-galli fresh pollen retains viability (13%) after storage for 3 months in liquid nitrogen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perkecambahan dan pertumbuhan biji palem putri pada berbagai media tumbuh yang diberi zat pengatur tumbuh (ZPT). Penelitian di rumah kaca ini menguji empat jenis media tumbuh yaitu kompos, pasir, Latosol dan Podsolik merah kuning (PMK). Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa media terbaik untuk perkecambahan dan pertumbuhan bibit palem putri adalah kompos. Media pasir, tanah Latosol maupun Podsolik merah kuning tidak mendukung perkecambahan dan pertumbuhan bibit sebaik kompos.
