The results of an interdisciplinary systematic study of sustainable development of beekeeping in ... more The results of an interdisciplinary systematic study of sustainable development of beekeeping in order to improve its institutional support are highlighted. The state documents (laws, concepts, strategies) concerning the development of agriculture and beekeeping are analyzed. It was found that the existing institutional support for the development of beekeeping is insufficient to fully realize the potential of the industry. The international criteria of sustainable development and their application to agriculture and beekeeping industry of Ukraine are generalized. The role of beekeeping in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals of Ukraine until 2030 is substantiated. The factors and conditions influencing the development of beekeeping and improvement of its production capacities are studied. The results of comparative morphological analysis and analysis of ITS1-ITS2 rDNA secondary struct... more The results of comparative morphological analysis and analysis of ITS1-ITS2 rDNA secondary structure are provided for two rare species, Centaurea konkae and C. appendicata (section Pseudophalolepis), which are critically endangered and Ukrainian endemics (Lower Dnieper region). C. konkae and C. appendicata differ from each other and from closely related species of this section, including C. donetzica and C. breviceps based on morphological characteristics. This pair of species is an intermediate group between molecular micro-clades ‘Ukraine 1’ (C. donetzica and C. protogerberi ) and ‘Ukraine 2’ (C. breviceps, C. margaritacea, C. margarita-alba, C. protomargaritacea) of Eastern ribotype Centaurea group on secondary structure ITS1 and ITS2. Aim. The purpose of the work was to introduce into the aseptic culture two endemic and one common... more Aim. The purpose of the work was to introduce into the aseptic culture two endemic and one common species of the Centaurea genus (C. breviceps, C. steveniana and C. stoebe) and to identify their ability to different types of morphogenesis. Methods. The methods of plant tissue and cell culture in vitro are used in this work. Seeds and parts of the seedlings derived from seeds were primary cultivating material. The nutritional medium of Murashige Skoog was used as a base. The seeds were sprouted according to Nikolaeva’s methods and their own modifications. Results. Seedlings C. breviceps, C. steveniana and C. stoebe were obtained. Ability to vegetative reproduction in vitro by cutting and forming non-morphogenic callus of C. breviceps plants have been shown. C. steveniana explants formed morphogenic callus and vegetative and generative shoots-regenerants from it, as well as they were able to the shoot direct regeneration (microcloning) from the segments of the stem. However, 30 species of them are intensively cultivated and have been used into the agriculture. One of the reasons of a small number of species that can be grown in industrial culture are unclear conditions for the basidiomes formation. Basidiomes and mycelium include various nutritional substances that are used in food, medicine, cosmetics, etc. Recently, the biosynthesis of fungal biologically active substances with immunomodulation, radioprotective, antitumor, antiviral and other properties is under investigation by many scientists. Only 15 % of all products of medical mushrooms are made from extracts of mycelium. This paper presents data concerning the conditions of the population of two species of white pear... more This paper presents data concerning the conditions of the population of two species of white pearl cornflowers – Centaurea appendicata Klokov and C. konkaе Klokov (section Pseudophalolepis Klokov) – on the banks of the Kakhovka Water Reservoir. Both species are extremely rare, local endemics of the lower Dnepr sands, included in the Red book of Ukraine. In the article the syntaxonomy of sandy communities with their participation are established, and the nature of the data population is presented. The factors influencing the decline of these species are determined in the article and measures to protect these species are proposed.
