Film Wyoming

“Wyoming was a fantastic place to shoot. It’s beautiful country. If you’re doing a western that requires you to be in beautiful, rugged terrain, it’s a glorious place to go. It screams ‘America.’ It’s really gorgeous.”

– Quentin Tarantino on Django Unchained

Film Wyoming

The Wyoming Film Office works hand-in-hand with the film, television and advertising industries bringing production into the state. It’s the Film Office’s function to foster interest in Wyoming among film makers, and once those film makers decide to shoot in-state, to provide them with a positive production experience. The Film Office likewise responds to requests from production companies for location information, utilizing its extensive Wyoming Media Library for up-to-date information about potential sites.

The Cowboy State has thousands of usable locations and hundreds of unique looks. Grand Teton National Park, with its picturesque mountains and film-friendly management, is perfect for a wilderness backdrop. Wyoming’s performance highways also lend themselves for car commercial projects including Togwotee, Beartooth and Snowy Range passes. Small towns like Sheridan and Cody provide a Main Street USA appeal, while any of a hundred working ranches illustrate the West.
