Mixed media in a sketchbook with just drawing paper can be challenging but for me personally it’s so worth it! The reason I choose to use a sketchbook with drawing paper right now for my “ugly” sketchbooks is because I love drawing on a nice smooth paper and half of the time I don’t use wet media in my sketchbook.

Everyone’s preference is different so do what is best for YOU. If you are primarily into using watercolor then you’d probably like using a full on watercolor sketchbook better!
