Abstract
Depuis 2010, la crise financière des crédits subprime s'est transformée en une crise des dettes publiques, et tout semble indiquer que le pire est encore devant nous. L'impasse dans laquelle les marchés financiers enferment l'économie européenne va jusqu'à remettre en cause les institutions mêmes du vivre-ensemble européen. Y a-t-il d'autres issues que la généralisation des plans d'austérité budgétaire, le paiement des dettes bancaires par les contribuables et la déflation? L'auteur met en lumière les illusions qui brouillent le débat public actuel. Il montre que la transition écologique est un projet de société capable de sortir l'Europe du piège où l'a précipitée la démesure financière et suggère des pistes pour lever les obstacles financiers à sa mise en oeuvre.
