Prevalencia del hambre en la Argentina en el arco de largada. Una exploración del hambre en la Argentina en el año 2015, con énfasis en el género de la persona de referencia del hogar

Abstract
En este trabajo se estima la prevalencia de la pobreza alimentaria en la Argentina usando dos indicadores: la escala inseguridad alimentaria modificada y los ingresos insuficientes para cubrir la canasta básica alimentaria. La estimación se ubica en el año 2015, momento en el que el país firmó la Agenda 2030 de Desarrollo Sostenible. El objetivo Nro. 1 (ODS-1) de esa agenda se propone “Poner fin a la pobreza en todas sus formas en todo el mundo” y la meta 2.1 del ODS-2, reza “Poner fin al hambre y asegurar el acceso de todas las personas a una alimentación sana, nutritiva y suficiente durante todo el año”. En 2015 el país registraba un nivel de inseguridad alimentaria total del 16,2%, inseguridad alimentaria severa del 4,3%, y un nivel de pobreza extrema del 6,7%. El presente documento se pregunta acerca de la relación entre ciertos factores que caracterizan a los hogares y a sus miembros, y la pobreza alimentaria. Combinando esta información con algunas otras conclusiones que surgen de un trabajo anterior, se aprecia que la política social puede ser una herramienta eficaz para lograr el avance hacia la meta del hambre cero.
