Abstract
The film-generated tourism is a relatively recent phenomenon that has grown mainly due to the influence of mass media and social media, because film and television are a strong force in attracting tourists, directly or incorporated into the marketing strategy of the tourist destination. Film and television are tools that can be used to shape the image of a tourist destination and to encourage tourism. The aim of the paper is to identify the opinions of young consumers regarding the travel and the tourism generated by the film at the level of the tourist destination Transylvania. In this respect, a quantitative marketing research was conducted. The results of the study highlighted the positive attitude of young consumers toward film tourism and the potential benefits of this form of tourism regarding the development of tourist destinations. The results of the study are released for the managers of tourist destinations in order to develop attractive and successful destinations. The paper also offers suggestions for future research directions.
