Bericht zur Wiener Wirtschaft. Konjunktur und Arbeitsmarkt 2022

Abstract
Der konjunkturelle Abschwung erfasste im 2. Halbjahr 2022 auch die Wiener Wirtschaft. Die noch günstige Entwicklung bis zum Sommer erlaubte im Gesamtjahr mit real +4,4% trotzdem das höchste regionale Wirtschaftswachstum im letzten Jahrzehnt. Gegenüber Österreich verblieb 2022 dennoch ein moderates Wachstumsminus, weil massive Basiseffekte im wieder erstarkenden Tourismus und Impulse aus der hier noch regen Export- und damit Industriekonjunktur das Konjunkturbild im dynamischen 1. Halbjahr dominierten, was Wien strukturell benachteiligte. Ein leichtes Wachstumsplus nach dem Sommer konnte dies nicht kompensieren. Anders als in Österreich gingen vom Wiener produzierenden Bereich im gesamten Jahresverlauf keine Wachstumsimpulse aus. Die Wiener Dynamik war damit 2022 allein durch den tertiären Sektor getrieben, was dem Wiener Arbeitsmarkt bei tendenziell höherer Arbeitsintensität in vielen Dienstleistungsbranchen entgegenkam. Die Beschäftigung nahm daher 2022 in Wien mit +3,4% rascher zu als in Österreich (+3,0%), die regionale Arbeitslosenquote sank mit 10,5% auf den niedrigsten Wert seit 2013. Im Jahr 2023 wird sich dies nicht fortsetzen: Die Wiener Wirtschaftsleistung dürfte nur noch um 0,6% (Österreich +0,2%) zulegen, was noch für einen Beschäftigungsanstieg von 0,9% (Österreich +0,7%) ausreichen sollte – zu wenig, um die Arbeitslosigkeit weiter zu reduzieren.
