Innovation und Marktdynamik als Determinanten des Strukturwandels

Abstract
Die Entwicklung der schweizerischen Volkswirtschaft seit 1991 ist gekennzeichnet durch ein im internationalen Vergleich überdurchschnittliches Wachstum des Sektors, welcher der internationalen Konkurrenz ausgesetzt ist, und dabei vor allem der wissensintensiven Branchen, sowie ein ebenfalls überdurchschnittliches Wachstum des öffentlichen Sektors (inkl. Bildungs-, Gesundheits- und Sozialsektor). Wie die empirische Untersuchung zeigt, sind die Förderung des Wettbewerbs und des Zugangs zu den internationalen Märkten sowie die Stärkung der Humankapitalbasis und die Unterstützung der Innovationstätigkeit der Unternehmen zentrale Elemente einer wachstumsorientierten Wirtschaftspolitik.
