Österreich 2025 – Wettbewerbsfähigkeit, Standortfaktoren, Markt- und Produktstrategien österreichischer Unternehmen und die Positionierung in der internationalen Wertschöpfungskette

Abstract
Die österreichische Industrie trägt wesentlich zu den hohen Pro-Kopf-Einkommen in Österreich bei. Um die industriepolitisch relevanten Einflüsse auf die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit österreichischer Unternehmen herauszuarbeiten, befragte das WIFO mehr als 1.000 der größten österreichischen Industrieunternehmen zu Marktstrategien, Einbettung in internationale Wertschöpfungsketten und Standortpolitik. Demnach fußt die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit dieses stark internationalisierten Sektors zunehmend auf Technologie und Kompetenzen, die ausdifferenzierte Wettbewerbsstrategien sowohl des Produktportfolios als auch der Zielmärkte ermöglichen. Dies macht die Anforderungen an den Industriestandort Österreich und die Herausforderungen für die Wirtschafts- und Technologiepolitik vielfältiger.
