the problem with this logic is that it's completely discounting villains who are evil for the sake of it, and those sorts of villains are fine too. those are the villains who people shouldn't relate to, but they are perfectly valid in their villainy. they can be fun characters too.

I’ve noticed that people seem to be more sloppy with their villains than with anything else, (myself included,) and I want to shed some light on the subject.
