These stools are very well made with a thick solid wood seat and a 1 inch thick cast iron arm. At the Turn-of-the-Century these benches were found attached to machine and wood working tables. They were very practical for a busy factory setting. When not in use they can swing out of the way, no chair legs to trip over and easy to sweep under.
