100% wool tweed recycled from an A&F men’s sweater.

This image is from January 1st, 2010. It’s the first sweater I ever recycled into yarn. I never took a picture of the original sweater, though.
It’s 70% cotton 30% lambs’ wool recycled from an Old Navy women’s sweater. The structure consists of three two-ply fingering weights held together into a light worsted weight.
100% wool recycled from a sweater called “Ashes.” Never heard of it.
Banana Republic 100% Lamb’s Wool. The original sweater was knit with a double strand of lace weight. The gauge swatches in the last photo demonstrate the native two strand weight worked on US3’s on the left, and a three strand on US4’s. To knit the latter, I split the sleeve sections into individual strands, shown in the second to the last photo.
Scored these vintage skeins today (130706).
Got around to washing these, and did a bit of quality control. There were a few knots and breaks that needed tending to (130728).
This Irish wool is a nicely blended, muted green consisting of olive drabs and aqua.
